Meet Goldie, Pleasant Street Grooming's new salon dog. Goldie was rehomed to me because she didn't get along with the resident dog and kept running away. But don't worry she is doing great in her new home. She doesn't bark and only needs a deshed when she has been hanging out with her friends. She is ready for winter and playing in the snow.

Keeping your dogs nails trimmed regularly is very important for their health and well being. Yet it is often over looked. Dogs should have their nails trimmed every 4 to 8 weeks. A good test is to see if they touch the ground when they stand. Ideally they should not. Neglected nails can cause pain, discomfort, an inability to walk properly, etc. I have seen nails that have grown so long that they curl round and pierce the dog's paw pad. Nail care can either be done at home by the owner, in the salon or by a groomer in your home. It is something that should start as soon as you bring your new puppy home. Most dogs don't like the process but with time, patience and practice you can get your dog to accept the 5 minute task with minimal effort.

Part two

I tried something new...recording my groom in hyper speed. This was an hour and a half of work. I stopped recording and finished the groom on the floor. The old girl was getting tired of being on the table.
