She’s our bather, Leanne’s right-hand woman/extra pairs of hands, receptionist, cleaner extraordinaire etc. 🫶
Kitana relocated to the island this year with her mom and her doggo “Diggity” (border collie x staffie x) she has amazing customer service and is a phenomenal hard-working human. (This pup Rizzo) was one of her puppies from Diggity’s last litter. She’s now owned by Cara and the girls get to see each other almost every day. ✂️
If you see her working away or perhaps she’s checking your pup in/out please say Hello as we break her into our DCG family 🫶

As most of our clients know, Jen has decided to take a step back from grooming for the time being. She’s already deeply missed by staff, clients and the pups. We wish her the best in the future and hope to see her hilarious, kind personality again in Dodge City Grooming Salon 🫶🐾
To all of Jen’s clientele; our groomers (Leanne, Cara, Sarah and Cyan) will be taking on her regularly scheduled clients/canines. If you are on a recommended schedule, PLEASE stick to it for the sake of your dog and our staff. Any client that hasn’t been seen by our groomers in the past 6 months or more will be considered a new client and will be placed on a new client waitlist.
If you haven’t rebooked, please do so now to guarantee an appointment. If you cannot find something that works with your schedule please contact Jodie at 250-218-5209 or place yourself on our waitlist through the online booking app. We strongly encourage booking 1-2 appointments before leaving as our books are tighter than ever and we are finding it more difficult to “squeeze in” appointments on a regular basis. ✨ Thank you to all of our amazing clients!

Happy Halloween everyone 👻 🎃 here’s a quick photo drop of just a few rad dogs this October we got to do some creative grooming on, some behind-the-scenes shenanigans, one of our guinea pig clients with a super rad combover and close to the end of the leaves falling 🍂

The salon will be closing up tomorrow (Thursday Oct 31st) at 4pm sharp for this super awesome, community event 🎃

We suggest leaving your pets at home during this event as there’s a ton of foot traffic, crazy/wild costumes and it’s loud! Not to mention the risk of candy/chocolate dropping to the ground. ❤️

🚨 This post is long overdue but it’s that time to let everyone know that there will be a price increase starting November 1st, 2024! 🚨
With the rising costs of everything in our lives and industry, you may see a slight price increase in your pet’s grooming appointment. With some appointments, you may not see any price difference. This is a post that is hard to write out as we’re all there with all of you and sympathize. At the end of the day, this is still a small, family-run business and we are planning on keeping it that way. Thank you to all our fantastic, loyal clients and their beautiful fur babies for making this dream happen. 🫶💕

✨As some of our clients and Cumberland residents have noticed… the new construction on the other side of our building.✨
We welcome our new landlords and their Vancouver Island-run business to Cumberland. As many of you have asked what is going into the other side of the building and the answer is . Reno’s take a little while to get started and they take a little while to finish so please be patient with us during this time. 🏃 🏃‍♀️
We have brought on another staff member (to be announced soon) to help console the dogs on our tables/another pair of hands when needed. And please don’t fret we aren’t going anywhere. 🫶
We still have a year left on our lease and we’re hoping to extend that moving forward. Thank you, everyone, for understanding during this busy/added element of time. 💖🐾

With that being said we are very limited to this type clientele. If you have moved to the area or you’re looking for a groomer with this skill please feel free to reach out. 🤍🩶
✨With over 20 years of experience, strength as a group of professional groomers and mad skills/products. We strongly believe in educating our clients about coat maintenance, pre-booked appointments and when/if it’s a service that works for your dog (especially as they get older and develop arthritis etc.)
✨ Cara is very limited/almost maxed for hand stripping clients however Jen & Leanne have opened up a few spots for these types of services/clientele. ✨

We offer everything from just nail trims, to comb out/desheds, bathing (there are some guild lines to this) lion/tiger clips, tidies and comfort grooming. 🦁🐯 At this time we only offer mobile feline grooming to Nanaimo and surrounding areas.

Madison’s last day was this week ❤️ and we are already missing her. She placed a roll as Leanne’s bather/blow drier, receptionist, cleaner, emotional support being, doggy cuddler/snuggler, kitty restrainer/dodger/smoosher, small animal lover, a shoulder to cry on and many, many more hats. ✨
We wish her well in her endeavours and hope she makes it back to the island in the (near) future with her girl Ember. You know where to find us 🫶 and thank you for being you and loving all of the fur babies that made their way into the salon over the past 10 months.

Our Story

After a lifetime spent working with animals, and many months of training, apprenticeship, planning and renovations, this immaculate home-based grooming salon in Cumberland, BC, opened for business in November 2015.

Dodge City Grooming serves the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland and surrounding communities. Leanne and her team are pleased to offer professional grooming services for dogs, cats and exotics.

We loves working with puppies, geriatric dogs and are one of few grooming salons in the Comox Valley who will groom cats.
