This weekend we hosted our first agility seminar! .amanda came to instruct A beginer level seminar. From tiny tiny to 10 years old, and all dogs in between we had a fabulous time!! Thanks to all who made their way out!

We will be hosting Clinician, Competitor, and Coach Amanda Abs from ABSolute Agility here at Sirius Unleashed. This will be geared towards beginners, people and dogs alike. No experience is necessary, but dogs should have some training foundations and understand being in a training environment.

Amanda is an experienced competitor with quite the resume with a passion for working with others. We are excited to have her!

Spots are limited. The structure will be two groups split based on experience, one group morning and one group afternoon.

While it's rather snowy and next summer seems miles away, beginner Agility Seminars are on my mind.

I want to accurately gauge interest allowing me to properly plan and allow everyone the opportunity to participate. This will be VERY entry-level. Two days, open to green dogs and green people. The Dangers of Dog Parks: Why You Should Think Twice

Dog parks can seem like a great idea for socializing and exercising your dog, but they can also pose serious risks that you should be aware of before visiting:

1. Unknown Dog Interactions:

Not all dogs in the park are well-trained or socialized. Even a brief encounter with an unfamiliar dog can result in injury or, in some cases, death. Fights can break out over disagreements or resources, leading to trauma for your dog.

2. Health Risks from Unclean Spaces:

Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend! The weather looks wonderful! Sirius Unleashed is the best place to come and beat the hustle and bustle of the public parks, take some time for yourself and your pooch, I know you will love it!

Hay you!! So it is Haying season, and because Sirius Unleashed is full of beautiful 4ft high grass, naturally the field needs to be cut and baled. This week bookings will be closed to facilitate this. Our wonderful neighbour will be coming to cut this week. It is anticipated the hay will need to cure a few days before being baled up. The booking calendar is closed until Monday, but if we can open it up any sooner due to the scorching forecast which will hopefully cure things quickly we will!! So make sure to check back, and we will keep you updated! We feel it will be worth the wait, with the soon-to-be much shorter fields as a benefit.

We have been fielding inquiries about the agility ring. Many of you are excited to come out and train, not only in a beautiful safe environment but on the highest quality equipment available. We are still waiting on our gates (ordered 7 weeks ago 😶) before we can open up the ring to rentals. We will have a slightly different procedure for agility rentals to ensure familiarization and safety for all.

Current park conditions: long and lush grass is well maintained, with mowed paths providing easy access throughout the park and a designated play area ensuring that toys don't get lost in the grass, creating it a welcoming space for all visitors tall and small!
