🐾 Welcome Shae to the Gemstone Dogs Team!
A lifelong animal lover, Shae shares her home with her beagle Snoop 🐶 and her kitty Sephora🐈. With over a decade of experience caring for pets both casually and professionally through Rover, Shae has earned a strong reputation for her compassionate and reliable care. Beyond her love for animals, Shae is also a dedicated personal trainer 🏋️‍♀️. She recently began her journey as a self-employed personal trainer, offering 1-on-1 sessions and group fitness classes at various local studios. Fitness is both her personal and professional passion – when she’s not working, you can find her participating in yoga 🧘, circus 🎪, dance 💃🏻 , and other fitness classes. Shae will be doing walks, let outs and cat care starting April 1st. I am so excited to welcome Shae to the Gemstone Dogs team, and I can’t wait for you and your gems to meet her!

We are opening a doggy daycare on April 1 2025!! 🎉 Right here from home, we will be offering full service, full day daycare including pickup and drop off within the Dartmouth area Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 🚕. I am very happy to welcome to the team new part-time walker and pet-sitter, Kayla! Kayla grew up in Dartmouth with her childhood dogs Candy and Bugsy. From a young age, she volunteered at the SPCA walking dogs and spending time with other fluffy shelter residents. She has a lot of experience dog sitting for friends and family, specifically reactive pups and large breeds. She can’t wait to spend time with your pups and take them on adventures! Kayla will be doing walks part-time around her full time job as a protection services officer at the IWK, and offering overnight pet sitting in the client's home. Welcome, Kayla! 🐾

Introducing our newest team member, Lauren! ✨
Lauren is originally from Halifax, but has been living in Dartmouth for over a year now. She has a past in hairdressing, but recently decided it was time to go back to school and pursue a nursing degree! Her favourite way to take a break from the books is to go outside and spend time with dogs. As a child, her dream was to have a dog of her own. She spent many years caring for family & friend’s animals, as well as walking dogs at the SPCA. Finally, her dream came true when she got little Nick, her Yorkie (pictured). While Nick cannot live with her at this time due to rental restrictions, this leaves lots of extra love for her to give to your pups, and she can’t wait to meet them! 

Lauren will be covering walks part time, as well as providing overnight pet sitting in the client’s home, and cat care.

Welcome Charish, our newest Walker & pet sitter to the Gemstone Dogs team 💎!
🐾 Charish is from Cole Harbour where she grew up an animal lover with her grandparent’s family black lab Cloe. From a young age she was volunteering at whatever doggy day care would take the help, and has experience in a variety of settings, from shelters to clinics. She holds a diploma in Corrections and Law Enforcement where she previously worked in the security field. However, she has decided to return to school in the new year to take a Vet Technician program in honour of her Kitty, Theodore who she lost in 2023 to crystals. In her spare time you can find her playing with her Golden Retriever Winnie, Chihuahua Chewy and Kitten Eeyore. She looks forward to meeting you & your fur babies! Welcome, Charish.

Happy 4th Birthday to our OG gem 💎, the Queen, the Angel 👼, Ruby girl, Ru, Ru-girl, Rubear, Rubio, Ruby Q, sweet baby angel, oobadoo, rubilation, pretty girl, sweet baby, riri. Without Ru, there would be no Gemstones. She was the seed who started it all. We love you Ruby!

🐾 Pricing Pupdate 🐾 Gemstone Dogs has made the tough decision to adjust our prices so that we can continue giving your gems the royal treatment amidst rising operational costs. For current walking clients, the new prices take effect May 1 2024. New pricing will apply to any new clients. Your loyalty and support means the world to us!
