Dr. Marryatt's Goodbye to HCVH
Dr. Paige Marryatt has been a devoted veterinarian at Harbour Cities since 2003. It is bittersweet to announce that as of December 20th, 2022 she is leaving the clinic to pursue other opportunities and will no longer be booking appointments.
Our team (both past and present) is very honoured to have worked with her and we wish her nothing but the best.
We can't thank her enough for almost 20 years of dedication and excellent care that she has provided for Harbour Cities patients, clients and staff.
Our handsome clinic cat, Jimmy, is retiring to spend the rest of his days with his favourite doctor as their many years together have made them inseparable. We will surely miss them both.
Please enjoy the heartfelt farewell that Dr. Marryatt has prepared for Harbour Cities.
As always, we can be reached at (902)463-7610 or [email protected].

Time together
We are closed this evening for our second family to spend some time together.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as our team invests in their mental health.
HCVH Team
It goes without saying, but we are going to say it anyways, because they need to hear it!
Thank you, Toni, Tessa, and all the RVTs, in this crazy world we call vet medicine.
Thank you ladies for all you do, for everything we see, and more importantly, everything we don't.
Your dedication to patient advocacy, and the pride you take in their care does not go unnoticed, we see it in every patient that walks through our doors. π

Tips to save money at the vet!
As your pet's healthcare provider we want to ensure our patients receive the best care possible, while understanding that these recommendations come at a cost, we have compiled a list of how you can do right by your pet and your wallet!
Pet Insurance: You never want to think about your pet being sick or having an accident. However, not thinking about it is not a reliable way to protect your pet in the future.
To prepare for medical emergencies, we recommend enrolling your pet in a medical insurance policy before anything unexpected happens.
Annual Health Checks: Preventative care is just as important for pets as it is for their owners. Why? Because we can help detect (and sometimes prevent) diseases and other life-threatening conditions early on, saving you money and heartache in the long run.
Spay and Neuter: Spaying (for females) or neutering (for males) provides countless benefits for your pet and your wallet. Spaying or neutering your pet will reduce the risk of many life-threatening diseases including types of cancer and diseases of the reproductive system. Additionally roaming pets are one of the number one causes for hit by car emergencies.
Parasite Prevention: Parasites can take away necessary nutrients from a pet, they can cause a number of conditions that can actually be fatal. Preventative measure are a drop in the bucket compared to costs for treating these life threatening diseases that can arise.
Quality Nutrition: We often hear, βShe eats the most expensive stuff from the pet store.β Sometimes, the most βexpensive stuffβ isnβt what your pet actually needs, as far as their individual nutritional needs. We may advise you to seek out a different type of diet that could possibly cost LESS than what youβre spending now. Believe us when we say, this happens a lot. Nutrition is a powerful form of preventative medicine, and can slow or stop the progression of many diseases that would otherwise require expensive treatments in the future.
Thank you!
Help us say thank you to our dynamic reception duo, Toni and Kaeleigh!
Through genuine empathy, unmatched patience, and clear communications skills, our veterinary receptionists help strengthen bonds between clients and medical staff while offering a unique perspective in advocating for patient health.
As receptionists and client service representatives, they are experts in client care β they act as cheerful greeters, triage cases, show kindness during difficult times, and answer an abundance of questions, among many other tasks.
Toni and Kaeleigh, you are rock stars!
For everything you do, we thank you.

Now more than ever, we need to start the conversation.
Mental health is a challenge for many health care practitioners and veterinary professionals are no exception. Every day, our veterinary teams are faced with a variety of cases resulting in a roller coaster of emotions. Life threatening diagnoses, emergency cases, and euthanasias can lead to depression, burn-out, and compassion fatigue.
Mental health touches the lives of many team members at each clinic and hospital -- customer care representatives, veterinary assistants, technicians, practice managers, doctors, and more.
#BellLetsTalk Day was launched in 2010 to spotlight awareness, acceptance, and action in mental health. It has become one of the most successful social media campaigns in the country. In 2012, only 42% of Canadians reported being comfortable speaking with others about mental health. As of 2019, 84% of Canadians say they feel comfortable sharing their mental health experiences.
