Oscar is in the clinic with us today to spend time with his favourite people!

We are working on his work ethic! His day typically consists of playing with our computers, staring at our staff until they cuddle with him, and sleeping in the office chairs.

Hopefully our practice manager doesn’t catch him dilly dallying!😂

are chemotherapy and full abdominal
ultrasounds! You may also assist our general
medicine doctors with appointments from time
to time!

Found cat!
This neutered male cat was found in the pleasant street/bonnie terrace area of Dartmouth and brought to us. He is not microchipped. He has two small wounds on his back. Very sweet and friendly.

Staff Highlight

We would like to re-introduce our Certified canine Rehab Vet tech ( CCRVT). Kim has been a tech for 29 years in general practice. For the past 19 years , her focus has been rehabilitating dogs and some cats after surgery, or injury, helping senior pets stay mobile and comfortable with various modalities. As in the human physio world , dogs also benefit from physical rehab to ensure improved recovery after TPLO's ( knee surgery for CCL deficits), formal in clinic treatment along with a home regime for postop IVDD cases can aid it getting the dog back to walking. Senior mobility maintenance program can help maintain good muscle mass and tone which aiding in making their joint feel better.

Patient highlight

In March of 2021 - Kim was asked to foster and rehab a 9 month old border collie with a fractured left humerus ( spoiler alert- she foster failed - he was a keeper ). Due to a slip on ice with his prior owner , his bone plate repair had failed. He was place in a full leg splint, however there was still some movement in the leg and his bone healed at an angle. Once the plate was removed around 12 weeks post surgery, daily intense rehab started.. He had massage, laser, NMES, underwater treadmill and Assisi loop treatment daily. Controlled walks, and a program of specific exercises to ensure he regained muscle and function to set him up for long term comfort and mobility.. Fast forward to July 13/24 - having spent many weekends through the summer of 2022/2023 practicing and honing his instinctual herding skills ( note - he came from a long line of working UK border collies) - Fynn and Kim competed in their first herding trial as beginners - they brought home a 1st and 3rd place win in the group of 4 competitors in that class!

Lily was such a sweet girl for her first puppy visit with us🥰 She was a bundle of that puppy energy! With the help of her mom’s sign language signaling her to sit… we managed to get an adorable one! See you in one month Lily❤️
