Today is Pet Memorial Day.
The hardest part of pet ownership is saying goodbye. We are here to guide you through the process and answer any questions you have.
One of the ways people grieve the loss of a pet is to share happy and sweet memories of them.
Share a memory of a beloved pet who has passed over the rainbow bridge by tagging us. We would be honored to read them and take a moment to remember their sweet souls with you today.
If you would like to share privately, please send us a message.

It is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day!
Preventative care for our feline friends is very important. We want to make sure they are healthy through all stages of their life. That is why We strive to create a fear-free environment for all animals.
Successful consultations with a vet require cats to have positive experiences with their veterinary team in order to ensure future care does not provide unnecessary stress. A collaborative approach between our staff and owners helps provide the best results for stress free visits.
Here are the steps for you to help creating fear-free visits for your Cat(s):
- Use a top opening carrier, preferably.
- Leave the carrier in an area of the house easily accessible to your cat and occasionally put treats or toys in there for him/her to find.
- Line the carrier with towels sprayed with Feliway Pheromone Spray prior to bringing your cat in so that he has a “safe” and familiar place to hide in if he feels like it.
- Bring your cat in for regular free “fun” visits where he/she can sit on the scale and receive treats and pets if she desires.
- Very nervous cats may also benefit from taking an anti-anxiety supplement called Zylkene prior to the visit.

Is my dog or cat at risk for ticks in my own back yard?
YES but the risk factors depend on your backyard. Risks increase if you have long grass, live close to the forest or brush.
There are ways you can reduce risk:
- Contact us about tick prevention for your pets
- Cut your law regularly and keep your grass short
- Do regular tick checks after being outside (pets & yourself)
- Keep a tick twister or tweezers on hand for quick tick removal
If you find a tick:
- Call us to book a 4DX test to have your pet checked 6 weeks after finding a tick on them
- Send a picture to etick to have it identified (link below)
- Educate yourself on the signs of Lyme disease (in pets and people)

Dr. Barkai is answering an important client question…
We are closing early today, December 11th, at 5 pm to celebrate the holiday season with our staff. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
@banook_the_dog sent us this post and we just had to share it with you all! We even gave it our stamp of approval.
A reminder to please wear a mask, properly - see Bannok's amazing example, during your interactions with our staff.
We are providing curbside care (and contactless service as much as possible) so there should be very very limited face-to-face interaction happening during the lockdown but we do still require you to wear a mask.
Thank you all for your understanding and for helping us protect you and our staff!
