Kittens are coming up to their one month's birthday. Everybody's eyes opened up on schedule. Now they are getting more mobile. Trying to play with each other but not so steady on their feet. One kitten pounces on another and they both fall over. I'm starting the weaning process, trying to introduce them to solid food. They are not impressed.They wrinkle up their little noses and head for mum for a sip of milk to take the foreign taste away.

We got kittens. We got lots and lots of kittens. Serena gave birth to six babies last week. Two to three ounces is normal birth weight but all these weighed 3 to 31/2 ounces so they are big, healthy kittens. Will be ready for new homes this fall. Boys and girls available. Will be a few weeks before their colours are clear but are likely to be chocolate points or chocolate lynx points since both parents are. Granddaddy was a bluepoint, however, so a bluepoint is a possibility.

WE HAVE KITTENS!

We got kittens. We got stacks and stacks of kittens. Serena upstaged the hurricane by giving birth as Fiona was bearing down on the Maritimes. Took out my power for three days (altho lots of people still don't have power a week later). Trouble is, kittens can't nurse until they are warm enuf so getting them warmed in a hurricane was challenging. All five made it thru tho.

Zoe's kittens are thriving. I don't think they see a lot when their eyes first open but woke last nite to anguished screams from the kittens who had figured out how to get out of their box and take a hike across the cold hardwood floor. Had to put them back in their bed twice before they figured out that was more comfortable than the hardwood floor. But they must be seeing more than I thot to have gotten as far as they did.

Zoe has four kittens just getting mobile (in the middle of the nite) while Serena's spring kittens, their pickup delayed by the hurricane
