This guy is a popular one! He is recently adopted through PHSI and is coming for some training foundation. He is going to work on loose leash walking and helping him settle and not react with barking on the walk.

Arthur is working on his reactivity towards other dogs. He is a little strong headed and needs to go to a natural balanced state of mind. This will help him with the other dogs in the home as well.
Luna is doing the doing day program. 🔹
This young dog Luna will be learning how to regulate from excitement to calmness. Which will help her relationship with the kids in the household. We will be laying down a structure for her to grow up with. This girl will have a big day of learning!

Arly did a great job connecting with the ecollar. Her and her owner had an intensive learning session on how to use the tool correctly and effectively. E-collar can be a tool to help your dog have more freedom when used correctly. Let the opportunity come!

She is doing a great job modeling the yellow leash with nose band. She is here to learn E-collar which will help reinforce all the foundation work she has learned. Give her more opportunities and allow her owners to have more constancy and connection even at a distance.

Flint is doing the dog day program! 🔹
Flint is a two year old shepherd that is will be working on reactivity issues while passing other dogs. Other things he will be working on is loose leash walking, practicing calmness to help the cats trust him at home and relaxing anxiety. He’s a smart boy, excited to see him get to work today.
Ryker had a good two day train. He worked hard on overcoming his concern about the muzzle and we even visited the vet to practice in an environment uncomfortable for him. He worked well on the loose leash walking. And He did super with his nails getting touched then trimmed. Owners have a lot of work ahead of them working on managing space so he can respect them and their guests at home. This happy to see the progress this has made already and looking forward for his owners to have more!
Ryker is here doing a double dog day. 🔹
Ryker is needing a little more time to help him process everything through. He struggles with the classics pulling on leash, jumping on his owners and also owner possession, which means he’s controlling of the people around him. He has done some impulsive lash outs at family friends and has to get medicated and sedated at the vet for nail trims due to his extreme behaviour.
Ryker has a lot to work on today. He needs to start understanding that it’s not his job to control what happens in the spaces he is in. To trust and respect his owners and to not trigger at the muzzle and nail clippers. I’m looking forward to the progress this guy will make.

Ginger is doing the dog day train 🔹
This girl triggers into a bark with almost everything, dogs, people, cars. She does this on leash outside or at her window at home. Today we are going to slow her brain down so she doesn’t feel the need to act on every impulse.

Are harnesses a good tool to use?
When using a harness what are your goals? If your goal with a harness is for loose leash walking then no, there are way better tools to help effectively communicate with your dog. The harness has the lowest ability to communicate with your dog which in turn will creating more difficulty in management should your dog need support. However if your goal is for dog sledding, backpack harness, skijoring, or car safety, or a in front sport, then an appropriate harness would be the purfect tool!
Max is doing the dog day program 🔹
Max is a handsome young fellow, coming out of the teenage stage and learning how to be a responsible young gentleman. Max gets excited on walks, and if you were to drop the leash he would go run up to everyone! I’m going to teach Max today to pay attention to who is holding the leash and work on distractions. Also helping teach him to have an on off switch for when we need him to be calm.
Saalem is doing the dog day program. 🔹
He is year old coming out of that teenager stage and is picking up some bad habits that we would like to discontinue as he goes onto adult hood. He is struggling through separation anxiety, which may turn in to possessiveness with his owners. He is small and cute which is deceiving because he goes for bites. Today will be a kindergarten reset for this guy to help turn around this negative behaviour.
Jaya is on day two of her training program. 🔹
Today she will be learning Ecollar to take her to the next level. She has her foundation set already so she is ready to keep improving her skill while refining things she still needs work on. Way to go Jaya your capable of so much.
Welcome Peanut to the dog day program. 🔹
Peanut is working on his loose leash walking and not barking on walks at cars, people and other things. We will focus on our relationship building so he connects to his owners more on there walks to make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Dog language vs Human language.
When getting a dog it’s important to educate yourself on dog language. Understanding their communication and body language will help you better navigate living together don’t forget when you have a dog you are now a multi species household. While it can be great even beinficial to teach your dogs English like sit and down. Don’t leave your dog learning your world without you learning theirs.
Maddie has come back for day two of dog training.
She is working on the new tool ecollar, to create clearer and more consistent communication to help provide her with more positive opportunity. She will continue working on her loose leash walking and walking without reactivity.
Earning decisions.
Dogs and kids have a few to many similarities one being that as they grow and mature they have to earn decisions and how they do this is by the behaviours they display. Often dogs are left at home alone to fend for themselves and then choose poorly and owners think “they are a dog” shouldn’t they just know what to do. The truth is we have to hold their hand or paw until that continually display the things we want till we let go to allow them to do it on their own. If we don’t do this we set them up to fail. If we do this we set them up for success.
Does your dog need exercise?
Short answer yes. Long answer also yes, your dogs need both their physical body and also their brain worked. Many owners fail to provide adequately to both brain and body. Quality over quantity. Would it benefit your dog to go on a two hour walk? Only if you are accessing the mind as well. Otherwise you’re just creating a really fit unfulfilled dog, who may still be crazy at home after your lengthy walk.
While working with the brain with structure and instruction in a shorter walk may tire both body and brain creating that calm dog nature you’re looking for.
When you exercise your dog, pay attention to if your focusing on the Body or Brain or a bit of both!
3 reasons why placement is the bomb. 💣 (in a good way)
1. Utilizes a tool to help the dog find calm
2. Helps your dog practice impulse/self-control
3. Safe place for your dog to be when the surroundings are busy
How to set your dog up for success!
When wanting to bring your dog camping or to friend’s houses this summer, ask yourself can you ask your dogs to do things in your own home to stay in one spot to move away from things?
Often dogs in their own homes have a pattern and routine which doesn’t have you as the owner ask much of them. When they go to a new place that is different from home they no longer have that routine to fall on. Which makes them look like a “Bad Dog” this is because it’s not their regular structure. And you asking things of them outside of the home is harder. If they haven’t practiced in the home where it’s easier why would they know how to outside of the home.
Everything starts at home first. If your goals are to get out this summer and you need a hand sent me a message or text!

Benny worked hard overcoming when he wanted to nope outta situations. He has been used to fighting the idea of doing something and then would be catered to and take the easy way out. Knowing that he is capable will help his owners bring him into success where they can praise him and encourage him to do more.

This is Rivis first thunderstorm with me. I want her to not be fearful of storms so I’m setting up a situation to support her in this new loud experience. ⛈️ Things that I am doing with her are. 1. Firstly having her be secure, zero chance of running away. So leash up and eliminate flight mode. Even inside the house. (Don’t let your dog run under the furniture to get away. 2. Being calm and confident myself. 3. Praising curiosity and calmness. Not coddling any fear, meaning I don’t pet her if she is scared. I do not want to encourage fear. I want to support calmness. Jovi dog day program.
I Have been taking some time catching up on some of the training videos. Here is Moe during his dog day program, he had a big struggle getting though letting go of control, and moving through his pent up excitement, but he did so good, keep up the good work buddy! Let this be an encouragement to keep working hard with your dog and that you will see progress with time effort and consistency.
Sabré is a big handsome black lab that did the dog day program. One of his biggest struggles was walking horribly on leash as well as barking lunging at people walking by. We had good opportunity to practice as you will see in the video us watching many people pass by. Take a look at his progress!
Blue did the dog day program! 🔹 Watch this gorgeous girl blossom as she goes from barking at cars, pulling on leash, being nervous with things like brushing and putting on coats, and jumping up on people to a calm, collected, confident girl!
What one day of training can do for your dog! 🔹 Many people unfortunately think that it will take months or even years to have a dog walk well on a leash. That’s just not true. It may take time to develop consistency, but it should not take long to start seeing results. If your working with a trainer and and you don’t see any leash walking improvement, within 3 sessions with that trainer my recommendation is to find a new trainer.

Echo joined the Dog Day program last week. 🔹 You can see she is one excited pup! She was nipping the family kids and becoming a lot to handle! We worked on teaching her confidence in her owners and slowing down the excitement. She also was becoming difficult on walks as every time she saw another dog on leash she would bark and lunge. She is now well on her way to becoming a happier pack member in her family. Watch her video to see how her program went. See the whole family be involved!
This is Luna being walked by my niece who is 5 years old! Luna was adopted into their family as an adult. She came with a pulling on the leash problem. As an 80pound GSD that was problematic. 😬 My sister wanted her daughter to be involved with her family dog and be able to walk her dog someday. I gave my sister some guidance on leash training. With lots of practice, Luna has become a great loose leash walker!
