They owe us nothing, yet give us everything. You owe them everything, yet find excuses to give very little… 👀

If that feels harsh, it’s probably because there’s some truth in it for you.

These horses don’t owe us a damn thing.

They could care less about the checks, the buckles, the recognition that comes with winning.

They give us everything they have every single run simply because we ask them to.

So knowing that, why is it so easy to find an excuse to not do the things that are going make us the best partner for them…?

Why is it so easy to push off the training, the mobility, the actually fueling your body (read not living on Red Bull & junk food), the things that are going to help you perform at the same level that you expect from your horse…?

These horses don’t owe us anything yet make our wildest dreams come true…

The very least we can do is put in the work to be the very best we can be for them.

And that means making yourself as much of a priority as you make them.
