Something came up today that was / is very sad and truly unfortunate.
One of our clients puppies apparently has to go for surgery to remove a lump of some sort from his side. The Vetrinarian said that it is very unusual for a puppy to get this sort of lump. Said nothing about it being hereditary or congenital. Certainly not able to test for such an occurrence through parentage.
Well the client sent me a bill for +$1200!
Stating his opinion that he thought it should be paid by me due to our health guarantee.
As I hope all of you know we can't possibly guarantee that your puppies will never get ill or have some sort of freak issue.
What we guarantee is that within 3 years they won't get a TESTABLE breed specific genetic disease. Or congenital deffect.
If they do we'll replace the puppy or after 2 non affiliated veterinarians concur that the issue is either congenital or a breed specific debilitating disease we will reimburse 50% of purchase price towards vet bills
That's our guarantee.
I can't be responsible to pay veterinarian bills for any random issue or illness. That's absurd.
Sadly I'm sure they now think poorly of me and that I've wronged them somehow.
That's really unfortunate
I got into breeding to share in the love of puppies.
Over the last few years it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep up the mutual respect & commradery between client and breeder.
Sadly I think I'm nearing a change in my personal life that I couldn't have foreseen. Not sure if I'll continue to breed.
I want you ALL to know we love and have loved your puppies, since the moment I removed them from the womb. I cleaned them, caressed them, prayed safety & happiness over them, searched for happy homes, and then prayed some more over their lives.
I have taken breeding very seriously. Remember we loved them 1st.
I pray all of you will live long healthy lives with your puppies we bred and raised for you in our home.
