Did someone say PARKING? πππ
One of the simplest but most exciting parts about our new location! πππ»ππ΅
Who doesn't love puppies?! ππ₯°
Contrary to what you may think, we don't get to see tiny puppies very often. So when these 8 whippet puppies came in for their first vaccines, we we thrilled to drop everything and play! (While Dr. Jen examined and vaccinated everyone!) So much fun! ππΎ

Today Randy helped us with our Imagyst digital cytology machine. This nifty gadget allows us to get cytology results in just hours instead of days! It scans the slides and sends a super high res scan to the smart folks at @zoetispetcare for one of their board certified pathologists to have a look and get results to us in record time!
Thanks for your help, Randy! π¬

Opened in 1976, Huff Animal Hospital has grown a LOT over the years. We're bursting at the seams, and our current location just can't sustain us anymore! We'll miss some things about "Old Huff," but there are definitely a lot of things we won't miss at all!
Our favourite little helper is back! He zipped all the way in from the North Pole last night. He's going to rest today, but stay tuned for more adventures of Randy the Huff Elf!

ππCongratulations to the winner of our awesome gift basket, Olivia! We hope Luna and Hugo enjoy their goodies! We will contact you via Petdesk! ππ
It's time for our big announcement! It looks like this ghoul got an early glimpse, let's see what he's watching! More details will come sooooon! π»π»
Watch out for the dreaded grass awns! If your dog seems to be having paw problems, give us a call right away!

We recommend brushing your pet's teeth to help prevent tartar build-up. However, if there is already a heavy amount of tartar present, no amount of brushing will remove it. Watch how stubborn thick tartar can be,
Brushing shows the most benefit when started at a young age or soon after a thorough dental cleaning.

Happy Easter!!
It's Christmas Eve and time for Randy to say goodbye to his friends at Huff Animal Hospital. He sure learned a lot helping around the clinic, but his working visa has expired and he must return to the North Pole. He hopes to come back next year to learn some more!
Merry Christmas!

Randy has been helping us fill some prescriptions!
We have a fully stocked pharmacy with medications for heart disease, infection, kidney disease, parasite prevention, pain relief and so much more. Most of the time we are able to fill your pets prescription here at the clinic, but occasionally you may need to pick up less common medications from your pharmacy.
If you've picked up a prescription in the last few days....maybe count your pills....we're not super confident with Randy's counting abilities π¬ Maybe he should stick to simpler tasks.π
(full disclosure: we're totally kidding, all prescriptions are double checked before leaving the clinic!)
Today Randy is testing our glucometer. This little device uses a very small drop of blood to test the level of sugar in the blood. In diabetes blood sugar will be high. In other conditions it may read low. Randy was able to prick his finger for his sample, but we often use the edge of the ear to obtain a tiny drop of blood.
Randy's blood sugar is ever so slightly high today....probably from all the goodies our lovely clients have been bringing by!

Randy is checking out our diopter lens!
This lens is used along with a light during eye exams to help the doctor visualize the structures at the back of the eye. It works like a magnifying glass to help make everything easier to see. Using this tool the doctor can more easily see the retina and vessels within the eye.
Your baby blues are looking great, Randy!

Those aren't sugar plum fairies! π³
Today Randy is using the microscope to look at some debris from a kitten's ear. He has found some unwelcome visitors, ear mites!
Ear mites can be seen in both dogs and cats, but are mostly found in young kittens. They cause itching and dark, dry debris in the ear. They are easily treated with topical miticides and a good ear clean. Yeast infections of the ear are often mistaken for ear mites, so it's important to use the microscope to examine the ear debris to make a definitive diagnosis.
