We recently received a ton of amazing and thoughtful donations from the local Ladner Sparks group (ages 5 & 6). The children also made some lovely cards for us to hand out to adopters. Thank you kindly for all of the donations! We are very grateful! ♥️🐾

Meet CLOVE! 💙

This spunky momma cat is ready to add some adventure and spice to your life! With her mesmerizing eyes and quirky personality she is sure to keep you on your toes! Clove has some of the most killer hunting instincts and absolutely LOVES hunting her toys! Not only that, but this lady also loves to play tug of war and even fetch! If you throw her favorite toys, she will happily retrieve it and bring it back for more! 😃

Aside from her occasional sass, Clove is actually a sweet girl! She just needs someone who understands her unique blend of wild and sweet and will love her just the same! A cat experienced home, without young kids and definitely NO dogs would suit this beauty the best!

Bonded Sisters - Meet Elsa & Anna! 💙🩵

These two beautiful princesses are searching for a new humble abode or shall we say 'castle' to call their own! After being oh so loved in their previous home, they hope for just the same kind of royalty treatment! 👑

Elsa & Anna are more reserved and shy young ladies at first, but with a bit of time and patience, they bond very closely with their favorite people! They are the 'cozy night in' type of gals that prefer small groups and intimate gatherings over big parties. The quiet, laid back and relaxing lifestyle would be the perfect match for these two!

Although they are nervous around strangers, Elsa & Anna are the truly the sweetest and most loving girls with their trusted people! They will happily curl up with you for cuddles and roll around seeking affection. Perhaps the sweetest thing is that they'll often be found cuddled together like yin and yang! ☯

Aside from cuddle time, playtime is also a big favorite! They both absolutely LOVE their toys - especially the little spring ones!

Another Happily Ever After! 🖤

Buddha was a senior boy that came in as a surrender. Lucky for him, he did not spend very long with us before his person found him and fell in instant love! 🥹

Here's what she had to say:

"I LOVE him! I'm so incredibly happy that he's in my life. He's really settled into the house.

When we first got home he spent a few hours just walking around every nook and cranny, smelling everything. He cuddled up on the couch with me and then cuddled with me in bed that night. I got up to use the washroom and he followed me, jumped in the tub and stared at me, expectantly. I knew right then, he was a tap cat! He won't drink out of his water dishes, and wakes me up standing on me so I know he wants a drink - he's so funny! He also SNORES! He's so precious.

Oh my gosh, and then once my son came home, Buddha started following him around everywhere. He sits outside his room waiting for him and meowing. We also discovered he's a part-time undercover cat - I couldn't find him one day and when I went to ask my son, he said 'shhhh... he's sleeping' and pulled back his covers and there Buddha was all cuddled up!

He's so precious and playful and cuddly and gorgeous and amazing. He's added so much to my life and our household. Big boy with a big personality. Match made in heaven. Thank you for matching us!"

Introducing.. PORKINS! 🐾

A gentle giant with a heart of gold! This boy is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet - a certified cuddle bug and pro air biscuit maker.

Porkins was out and about exploring all the world has to offer, when he figured he'd make himself at home at West Way Feed Store! Since living there wasn't an option, he's made himself home here at the shelter while he waits for his real home to come along!

This big boy loves the simple things in life - snacks and a good cuddle. If you're looking for a Netflix and chill partner in crime, Porkins is your guy! He's ready to flop down, roll around and curl up beside you purring happily and soaking up all the love you have to offer! Porkins is sure to steal your heart when you hear his soft little 'meows' from such a big body. He's hoping to find a quiet and calm home to match his sweet and calm nature!

PABLO UPDATE! 🐾

We were SO excited to receive this update on our boy ‘Pablo’ who spent over 1.5 years in shelter and had a very special place in many of our staff members hearts! 🥹

Here’s what his adopter had to say:

"I wanted to put together a little update for Olorin (formerly Pablo) since you guys had him for so long. We adopted Bombadil (formerly Blitz) a couple years earlier and they are doing fantastic together! We used some 2x4’s and wire hangers to fasten two crates on top of each other for them that we refer to as “The Husky Hotel”, which is pretty cute. Ori has settled in so well already, he responds to both his full name and nickname, eats full meals, has learned to wait to go outside to relieve himself, and has decreased his anxiety meds. He is also fully crate trained and does fantastically on car rides and public outings. He is such a good dog. His favorite things are definitely yard time and pestering Bomba. We really love our two guys and we tell everyone about how fantastic the experience was working with your shelter to get them. Thanks so much for all the work you guys do.”

Seeing the two huskies together brought us so much joy - we couldn’t be happier! The BEST possible adoption update! 🥲

A D O P T E D ! ❤

Our sweet and (sometimes sassy), Tortie lady 'Miss Vicky' has finally found her perfect match!

Her adopters initially came down to visit a few different cats but only ended up visiting with Miss Vicky. They spent time with her first and decided they didn't want to look at any others - it was love at first meet! 😍 They continued to come down weekly for over a month to spend time with her and continue building their bond, before officially adopting her this past weekend!

In honor of adopting her over Valentines weekend, her adopters have tweaked her name, changing it too 'Miss Vicky Valentina' or VV for short. How adorable is that!? 😻

Today, we even received a wonderful update, stating that it feels like she has been a part of their family forever 🥹 She loves cuddling and napping with them and they even make sure to schedule multiple, daily play sessions ❤

We couldn't dream up a better family for Miss Vicky to love her through all her quirks and all! Thank you for choosing her 💕

LICORICE UPDATE! 🖤🖤

Remember how not too long ago, we put out a plea for 'Licorice' who was our last kitten standing from his litter? Well that day we received a call from a previous adopter who had taken another black kitty home a while ago, named 'Macy'.

Macy had always lived with other cats, until moving into her single cat household, and her adopter always thought she wanted a friend. The timing was PURRFECT and this just seemed meant to be! She came down right away to meet little Licorice and took him home a week later. 🐾

Fast forward to now, and they are the BEST of friends! Licorice is a little mini me and can always be found as Macy's little shadow. They really do love each other, and Macy has taken on the best biggest sister role!

We simply can't get over the cuteness overload of these photos! They really do look like best friends and we are so very happy for them and mom! Happy Tails! 🥰

POTATO UPDATE! 🥔

As you may remember, Potato had been at the shelter for a very long time and was often over looked due to her extreme shyness around strangers. With her 'people' however, she was the absolute sweetest girl! Her adopter spent multiple visits with her and despite her never coming out he took a chance on her, knowing it could be months of waiting for her to be comfortable.

After bringing her home, he installed a camera in her safe room to monitor her.. Much to our surprise, it only took one night for Potato to start exploring and ONE WEEK before Potato started taking treats from his hand and allowing pets!

Only a few days after that, Potato started to sleep in his bed and was always wanting affection! We anxiously waited to hear more as her adopter sent us updates every few days, and we were simply amazed at her progress in such a short time!

After only 2 weeks, Potato definitely knew this was her person and their undeniable bond and adorable photos have brought us such joy to see! She reportedly always wants to be near him, whether that be laying beside him or in his lap! 🥰

Taking a chance on a shy or fearful cat can truly have the most rewarding outcome. We all knew Potato was such a special girl, and it just took someone with love, patience and understanding to see that too!

One of our recently adopted kittens "Pretzel" stopped by the shelter the other day with his new mom to bring us these adorable homemade crochet hearts and treats! 💕

She let us know that Pretzel is living his absolute best life! He's quite the busy body and is as crazy as ever but she loves him and his crazy antics more than anything! We're so happy they found each other!

We can't wait for his next visit! 🥰

WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE!? 💕

Mrs Pots is looking for that special someone to share all her love with!

This sweet, tuxedo lady was just a kitten before finding herself becoming a teen mom. She wasn't too thrilled on her life choices to say the least, but nonetheless she raised 6 beautiful babies who have since found homes - now it's mom's turn!

Mrs. Pots is a total sweetheart on all counts! She thrives on affection and loves to give lots of nose boops and forehead kisses, some of which may contain happy drool bubbles! Cuddling is her most favorite activity and after she comes over to rub her face on yours, she'll happily plop right down to be the 'little spoon' in your arms!

Mrs. Pots can't wait to meet her purrfect valentine - will that be you!? ❤
