Mark your calendars and get ready for a jolly good time! Wine and snacks will be served, must be 18+ to attend. Registration in Bio 😊
Come join us for a fun-filled afternoon of crafting adorable wooden Christmas gnomes! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a beginner, this event is perfect for everyone. Get creative and make your own unique holiday decorations to add some festive charm to your home.
You will put together 3 wooden gnomes, and additional gnomes can be purchased for an additional $10 each.
All supplies will be provided and you are invited to bring any special notions or extras you want to add to your gnomes!
The beard material can get messy, please bring an apron or wear clothes you’re okay getting fuzzy.

How do we help kids deal with loss?

This can be a very difficult conversation. Often a death of a friend or loved one before the age of 25 is a child’s first exposure to death, grief and loss. How we deal with it will have a big impact and will form patterns in how they deal with death in the future.

Best advice is to go slowly and tread lightly. Answer any questions as honestly as you can. Even if that answer is “I don’t know.”

Ask often if they have heard enough? Do they want to keep talking or do they need a break. Let them guide the conversation. It can be very overwhelming. Don’t push. Don’t force. Some kids do not want to talk at all.

This process is called micro dosing and it’s a valuable tactic for anyone who is struggling with loss.

Found Stray Animal

On Nov 13, 2024, Devon Peace Officers were advised of a stray dog found in the vicinity of Miquelon Ave / Erie St. The dog has not been claimed and we are looking for assistance in locating a possible owner. We are also looking to speak with the unidentified male who found it and dropped it off at the Riverview Vet Clinic. The dog is described as a Black Chihuahua / Male with no identifiers.

I had an amazing Devon Legion Branch 24/7 representative come to .dog.shoppe with hopes of leaving a Poppy Bin. After some conversation I explained that poppy’s were a dog hazard, but I would be happy to sell the beautiful black pins. She came back later with a set of them. So if you have pups or littles and would like a beautiful black center pin they are available for $5 cash each. You can also pick them up at the Devon Legion during their open hours. With Halloween just around the corner here are some expert tips to make sure everyone has a great night! No matter how well trained your dog is, it is best to leave them at home if you are trick-or-treating with the littles. There will be so many dangers on the ground that you won’t be able to see at night! The morning after…walk your pup on the road. Less chance of them getting any candy leftovers!
