Horses backs:

Correct schooling is really important for our equines and will often depend on what discipline we compete them in.
The below picture shows how a hollow back stacks all the dorsal processes together and often a cause of kissing spine.
If you have a breed prone to this problem really important to make sure the horse can use his back correctly and lift it.
There are schooling techniques and exercises that can help with this.
Physical therapy is also an important part in maintaining a good back too.

We are SO excited to welcome Maggie Lyons to the Rising H team!

Maggie and her horse, Diesel, compete in the Ladies Breakaway Roping on many associations across central and southern Alberta. Maggie’s persistence and determination lead her to win the FCA Finals in her Rookie year! Maggie constantly searches for ways to improve herself and her horse, and we admire her greatly for that!
I am honoured to get to help Diesel feel his best as they travel down the rodeo road this summer and cannot wait to see what they accomplish!

Proprioception describes the perception of the own body, its position and movement in space. Loads of nerves, so called proprioceptors, are located in muscles, fascia, joints, ligaments, and tendons, and constantly supply the central nervous system and brain with information about the position of any body part and changes occurring there.
𝕎𝕙𝕪 𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕥 𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕥𝕒𝕟𝕥?
If a muscle gets stretched in a certain way or tension arises in a tendon, this information will immediately be processed in the central nervous system and brain to adjust the body to safely cross the obstacle and ultimately avoid injury. The better their
proprioception is, the faster they can react to stimuli and adjust their body in a beneficial manner, preventing damage from occurring.
