NAIL TRIMMING🐾

•One of the questions I get asked the most is “How often should I be trimming my dog/cats nails?”.
And in all honesty it really depends on a few different factors.

•On average a dog should be getting its nails trimmed every 3 weeks or so. You want to ensure that their nails do not touch the ground while they stand so they dont apply any pressure to the paw causing discomfort or affect their posture.

•If your pup is very active and grinds them down naturally, you may be able to go a bit longer. But if your pup is more of a lapdog and not as active, you may need to get them done sooner!

•If your goal is to keep them as short as possible, you can even trim/grind them weekly.

•For cats I also recommend 3 week schedule. Some kitties will file their nails naturally on scratching posts but they can still need a trim to help the shortening process. If cat’s nails are left to grow untrimmed they can curl up and into the pad puncturing it, so it’s important to keep on top of it!
