It is with great sadness that we post the loss of our sweet Beau. Beau was from our first litter who ended up coming back to us. Beau LOVED to play fetch, didn't matter if it was a ball, stich, or dried horse p**p, he always brought it back without fail. Beau was also Jason's constant sidekick, no matter what he was doing, Beau was by his side. 💔

Colorado Molly (as there are 2 Molly's) and Rhino through the year, also July babies, we were so happy that went to the same home and could grow up together. It's tough raising 2 sibling pups together, we know as we did it with Lola and Echo, but so happy when it works out, we've had a few siblings go to homes together now.

I would like to share a terrifying story that happened to us here yesterday.
With the weather being as hot as it has been, we took our 4 dogs to the canal to cool off, swim and have some play time. Our dogs love the water, Lola, Jake and Bear more so than Beau. Lola is more on the exuberant side when it comes to entering the water (for those that have watched Superstar, picture Mary Catherine Gallagher and how she enters the pool). So after some time playing and cooling off, we brought the dogs home, and Lola began acting strange, very lethargic and almost drunk like. I quickly did some research, suspecting water intoxication, she was rushed to the Strathmore vet where they ran tests and also suspected the same thing, she was then taken to Calgary to the emergency vet for 24hr care and put on an IV for electrolytes. After speaking to the vet this morning, she is doing much better, they will be running another batch of tests this morning and hopefully she will be released this afternoon. My whole point of this long post is that something as simple as having a good play in the water on these really hot days can go wrong very quickly. Lola took in alot of water by jumping in, mouth open, taking in too much, water intoxication can be deadly. If you have a dog that loves water, please research water intoxication and watch for signs, shorten their play time if they are one of those dogs that tends to take in alot of water when they dive in, or gulps at something, it could save your dogs life. ❤
