Butterball(aka. Ponyboy)

2011 13.3hh Bay Grade Welsh Cob
Butterball is a sound, sane, fun, athletic, smart little(big dude). Butterball is built "ford tough!” But seriously, he has thick bone and a stout powerful body. He has been there and done that. Anyone can ride him!
He has been schooling to 3'3 at home and showing to 2'6 (as his rider was getting bigger and never got him showing any higher).
He has experience in the jumper ring, hunter ring (though he is not as good at this as he and his rider liked to go fast!) and cross country course (this is his favorite!! Schooled 3'6 and loved every freaking minute of it!)

Butterball has been shown in flat english classes and some western classes, he has done showmanship, in hand trail, gymkhana(all in 4h), has had a rope thrown off him, but never drug anything. He has been exposed to a wide range of life experiences including trailriding, dirtbikes, pigs, chickens, turkeys etc. nothing phases him!
Butterball LOVES little kids! He really adjusts himself to who is ever riding him. He is the type of pony where if he has a kid that wants to get up and go on him he will have more go than woah! But if he has a very green little on his back he has more woah than go. He is big enough to be rode by an adult too!
Butterball is great for the farrier, (he has been shod with corks), great for the vet, baths, clips, self loads in straight or angle hauls. Butterball's owner is heading off to school in the fall and it is time for him to find another little human to show the ropes to, where they can grow together and they can take each other to the top! He would be suited for any age rider.
This pony is a once in a lifetime pony with so much life left. He is going to be greatly missed!

Butterball comes with his custom fit saddle, 5 point breast collar and girth ($2500 value).

That was fast!

After some cold weather delays, Sintra went to her new home today! She will be staying in Alberta and we are SO excited to see where she goes with her new family!

This mare was so special to bring on and rehome. She has so much to teach ❤️

2010 Buckskin Morgan gelding standing 15.3hh.

Spirit is best suited to a confident intermediate or advanced rider as he can be more of a forward and sensitive ride. He is not spooky, hot or dangerous and could be suited to a confident rider with less experience depending on the person.

Spirit is well broke in working equitation and dressage type movements. He knows all lateral movements (leg yield, half pass, shoulder in/out, haunches in/out, etc) in walk and trot and is working on lateral movements in the canter. Spirit has green changes but is developing quickly. He is started on working pirouettes, counter canter and has also started learning piaffe. He is very athletic and has a natural talent for upper level movements and is proving to be a great working equitation or pleasure dressage type horse. He is very personable and thrives off a good horse/rider connection. He has shown at Level 2 Working Equitation in Armstrong BC July 2023 and seems to enjoy it.

Spirit is great to trailer, tie and trim. He is up to date on deworming and feet and is very passive in a herd setting. He is the same horse whether he is at home or trailered out. He is sound, currently barefoot and can be ridden in a snaffle, curb or double bridle. In his earlier years he had been trail ridden frequently and is brave on the trails. He has been in training and ridden consistently since August 2022 in a classical dressage type style. He has ponied c**ts off of him and done very well.

The ideal home for Spirit would be somebody who values a horse and rider partnership and who is looking for a unique and personable best friend. He is very talented and could go far with the right person. He could be suited to an amateur teen or adult as well.

Stallion Sunday!

GypsyDreams Olympus turns 4 this year. Watching his sweet and laid back temperament out in the pasture,
you would never guess he’s a stallion. He can be off breeding one moment, then eating happily by his friend Fergus the next. He can he handled by anyone, even for breeding.

We are quite excited to meet his first foals ever, they start arriving in early May! We weren’t planning on keeping any foals this year…… but there’s probably a significant chance our plans will change. 😂

We love getting foal updates!

Our 2022 Gypsian Warmblood c**t Specielle Moments WCF “Mo”, now effectionately named “Krateros”, has been doing some growing! This handsome lad has been enjoying the winter in Southern Alberta with his best Clydesdale friend Fergus. We cannot wait to see what his 2 year old year brings! 🥰

It’s been a frigid week here at the farm!
We are on day 5 of temperatures between -35C and -45C without the wind chill, and -50 and below with the windchill. Humidity has also been high around 70% adding that extra nip to the air! 🥶

All the mares have been blanketed, provided high quality forage in multiple locations to eat and bed down in out of the wind, offered salt and or course plenty of water. We have had some auto-waterer issues on and off, but thankfully the old school trough and heater has come to the rescue when the waterer has failed us! -40 is just COLD and nothing wants to work properly!

We have 2 more days of these extreme temperatures consisting of frequent herd and water checks, white eyelashes and frost dusted forelocks. Everyone is a little irritable and quite frankly “over it”, but all in all they are doing well and are looking forward to the balmy -20C next week 🥳

UR Mine “Sintra”
✨Urybaldi CH x Lucid✨
2006 16.3hh Canadian Warmblood Mare

Sintra is the newest addition here. We purchased Sintra as a possible broodmare, or a resale project, but we aren’t quite sure which way we’re going yet!

Sintra came to us from British Columbia early last month. She has settled into the herd seamlessly and has made herself right at home. Though we have only ridden Sintra a couple of times so far, as we have been letting her settle in after a big move, we are delighted with her soft and gentle nature under saddle. She has big beautiful movement with some impressive athletic ability. She is rumoured to have been schooling 3rd level dressage, and has been lightly started over fences.

Sintra is half sister to our CWHBA mare Urythmic ll “Baby” (Who has not been introduced to the broodmare pen yet as she has been off learning all things jumping with her fabulous Leaser). Their sire, Urybaldi CH, is well known in western Canada for producing fabulous amateur mounts in both the dressage and hunter/jumper rings.

We think Sintra would excel in a jumper or Eventing home due to her solid dressage foundation and newfound love for the jumps. She was also a proven broodmare in the past and with her exceptional conformation and kind demeanour could also be an excellent addition to someone’s program… we just aren’t sure yet if that is our program or someone else’s 😉

What a year 2023 was!
We want to thank all those who supported us this year with the purchase of our horses or foals, using us as ride share transport, sharing our posts or just engaging with likes and comments!
Thank you to the amazing stallion owners who have been so excellent to do business with, to those we have purchased horses from this year, our friends who have helped with whatever we have needed, from fence building to horse sitting and everything in between, our amazing farrier for constantly putting up with our shenanigans, our hay supplier for always making the best hay to keep our mares and foals healthy, and last but not least, thank you to our amazing vet for all the work she does for us, and for always going above and beyond to pave success for our mares and our program.

We would not have had such a wonderful and successful year without YOUR support, so thank you!

Zephyr
Broke 2015 Frieisan x TB Mare standing 16hh. Registered with the FBHR and eligible for Friesian Heritage Horse. Her Friesian lines go back to Wander 352 and Erik 351.
Zephyr is a very athletic mare who will do best with an intermediate or advanced rider in dressage, eventing or working equitation. She is solid in her flat work and knows her leads, leg yields, shoulder in etc. Lately she has been started on walk/canter transitions and fine tuning her dressage foundation. Zephyr has been extensively trail ridden including water crossings, hills and bridges. She has been ridden in the mountains and hacks out alone or with a group. She has also been exposed to polocross and obstacles. Zephyr has also been free jumped to 1m with ample scope for more and has been lightly started over fences under saddle.

This mare is the perfect mount for someone wanting to get her back working over the winter and start her debut in the show ring this coming summer. All of her basic training and exposure is there, now she just needs to hit the shows.

Zephyr is the type of mare who needs consistent work. When she has been left for an extended period of time it will take her a couple rides to get back into the groove of things, and thus does not fit with the current owners lifestyle. If she is kept in consistent work at least once a week or two she is very easy going and an absolute dream. She is a very sensitive mare and requires somebody with patience and a soft touch as she can be a forward ride. She is a blast under saddle and really just needs a person to take her all the way.

Zephyr is up to date on her shots, teeth (June 2023), Chiro (June 2023), worming and farrier. She loads, bathes, ties and trailers. This mare has never had an injury and has excellent feet, always barefoot.
She would make an excellent broodmare and shows heat well. She is maiden.

Zephyr is currently in a 30 day refresher and is available for viewing in Stony Plain Alberta.

Amadeus is no stranger to us around here and is an exceptional stallion pairing for this mare. He throws some good height, fabulous minds and ample hair paired with fabulous movement and extension.
