July 2nd UPDATE
Hello everyone, it's Rhiannon the owner of Trails on Trails. I would like to begin by acknowledging that we are on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, the traditional territory of the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) Tribes.
I want to thank everyone who has reached out this past week. I know it has taken me a long time to process what happened a week ago. But my tears of heartbreak and grief turned into tears of gratitude.
I have always thought I have known how amazing the community of the Cowichan Valley was. This past week I experienced it. When I lost my gear that supports my small business and my livelihood I was worried about how I would recover. I was in shock for days and it took a long time for me to be able to process what happened at the same time being able to process the community support pouring in to help me recover.
I want to thank each and every one of you who have shared my post or have reached out personally to me. I'm still responding to all the messages and I'm just so completely thankful that so many people are here to support my small business and myself. If I haven't responded yet, please know I am working through them and I'm still so thankful even though it's taken me longer than I would like to, to respond to everyone.
Sadly there has been no signs of my gear. I had a family member walk around Mt. Breton restaurant. We have been looking online and friends have reached out to local pawn shops to let them know. The also sad news is my insurance won't cover anything. My vehicle is not considered a work space so nothing will be covered.
I know many people have reached out asking how they can support. Sharing the link of the original post to help keep the word out really helps. One of my client had a great idea of making a Puppy Registry on Amazon. The link below is the link to that registry.

Island Pet Zone has been so supportive during this time as well! They have offered if people wanted to call in and leave a gift card on file they would let me know so I could use it towards replacing items.

A big shout out to Pet Smart as well for their kindness of donating some items as well.
Again I want to thank all my family, friends, clients, followers and the Cowichan Valley neighbours who have shared my post, reached out and donated. I promise when I recover I will remember all this kindness and pay it forward towards others in need.
Sincerely Rhiannon 🐾 ♥️
