It's time to renew your annual dog license with the Regional District of Nanaimo, if you have a dog over the age of six months and live in:

🐾Electoral Area E (Nanoose Bay)
🐾Electoral Area G (Englishman River, San Pareil, French Creek, Little Qualicum, Dashwood)
🐾Electoral Area H (Bowser, Qualicum Bay, Deep Bay)

Dog licenses are voluntary but not required in electoral areas A, B, C or F.

The benefits of having a current dog license include:

✔️ Quick Reunions: A dog license helps Coastal Animal Control return lost dogs to their owners faster.
✔️ Proof of Ownership: Your license serves as official identification for your pet.
✔️ Avoid Shelter Stays: If your dog’s home is known, they may not need to be taken to the shelter, saving you impound fees and stress on your pet.
✔️ Support Community Services: Licensing helps fund animal control and shelter operations, including caring for stray and abandoned dogs, park patrols and investigations.

If paid between December 1, 2025, and January 31, 2026, each license fee is subject to a $5 discount. For more details, visit: rdn.bc.ca/bylaw-animal-control

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Yes! it's Ladysmith Light Up!

Remember NO DOGS ALLOWED on First Ave.
Bring your umbrellas ! But leave Rover at home so he can keep your bed warm for you!.
Please share so out of towners don't have to leave Rover in the Rover. We will have Officers patrolling throughout the day/night. Pic taken from Ladysmith Festival of Lights page.

Thank you
