🎞️ Some 2024 Highlights at A Home for Hooves Farm Sanctuary:Found our forever home through Cyrus's rescue last year and took possession in April, thanks to your incredible generosity!Relocated over 130 animals to their new sanctuary and working hard to relocate the rest! Replaced some of the worn and weathered fencing with fresh, sturdy new fencing.Earl went viral for his playful antics—so much fun to share!Celebrated our 7th anniversary, thanks to your unwavering support!Esme met her namesake, Amy! Monthly sponsors helped cover the costs of food, bedding, and medical care for the animals.Participated in the 9th annual Save a Turkey Trot event which raised crucial funds and awareness for the turkey flock.Cyrus moved home!Came to the rescue of 50 new residents, like Blake.Our volunteers helped the sanctuary run smoothly. Today is World Day for Farmed Animals, and we feel truly honored to care for over 190 incredible animals at A Home for Hooves Farm Sanctuary. 💫 Each one has a unique story and brings immense joy and love to our lives. Today, and every day, we are inspired by these wonderful beings and envision a future where all animals are treated with compassion and respect. This day is dedicated to recognizing that every animal deserves a life free from suffering and the opportunity to thrive. 🐽 Take, for instance, Cyrus, the Yorkshire pig, who defied the odds after a horrific attack; Asher, the albino turkey, Asher was spared because he was albino and “unique”, very rare to be albino; and Sam, the sheep, who was born blind but can see perfectly well now, having been saved from slaughter. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the beauty of these animals and the meaningful connections we can cultivate with them. You are vital in ensuring these residents stay safe and live the lives they deserve. Last Sunday, Esme met her namesake for the first time. Esme’s name honors our friend Amy Soranno, whose dedication to raising awareness about factory farming has inspired many. Both names mean “beloved.” 🩵In a world where pigs like Esme are typically raised for food and often don’t live beyond six months, her journey is serendipitous; she was spared this fate due to being a runt that required medical attention. We are grateful for Amy’s tireless advocacy and for visiting us to see a more compassionate world for farmed animals. Today is also Amy’s birthday!
