Say hello to our pocket rocket , Trista Wilson! 🔥

From the moment she could ride, Trista knew the rodeo life was for her. A proud member of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, she’s built a name for herself in the barrel racing world, and now she’s bringing G’s along for the ride. 😎

Trista swears by Hedgerow, our plant-packed formula designed to support hormonal balance, detoxification, immune health, and more. And the results? Well, just ask her horses…

💜 Her gelding Popper Blue - “A bit of a bucker” if he’s not on Hedgerow, but calm, focused, and happier when he is.

💜 Her mare Stingray - Less marish, more cuddly, and “way nicer to be around” thanks to better hormonal regulation during heat cycles.

💜 And Hudson - Once dull-coated, now shiny, sleek, and healthy with a stronger mane and overall condition.

Whether they’re on the road or training at home, Trista keeps all her horses on Hedgerow to help manage stress, promote detox, support hoof health, and maintain that show ring glow. ✨

We are so excited to be supporting Trista in her barrel racing career. Watch this space 👀

We always say, “We’re horse people first.” And sometimes, that means creating what didn’t exist because your horse needs it. That’s exactly how Hedgerow was born! 🌿

It started with our mare, Suzie, who was diagnosed with Cushing's, and kept experiencing recurring uterine infections. Every cycle brought another round of sedation and antibiotics. Eventually, Suzie grew dull and not herself. And as horse people, you know when something’s just not right.

🔬 Our lead researcher, Sandi, got stuck into the task at hand and wanted to support Suzie’s reproductive system naturally to help her detox from the constant meds. That’s when she remembered the hedgerows in England: living fences full of wild herbs, berries, and what many would now call “weeds.” And yet, the horses grazed them with purpose, choosing plants their bodies instinctively knew they needed.

So, we recreated a modern version of that ancient wisdom. We formulated Hedgerow, using a handpicked blend of organic herbs known to support hormonal balance, lymphatic health, detoxification, and overall vitality.

Suzie was our first test horse, and within weeks her spark returned! 🥹 After a few months, her ACTH levels had improved so much, we could lower her Prascend dose.

Then came G, the horse who started it all. Also diagnosed with Cushing’s, he joined the Hedgerow program. One year later, for numerous reasons, we made the decision to take G off Prascend entirely. Now at 27, he’s enjoying his new lease on life, free of Cushing’s symptoms and shining from the inside out.

Does something seem off with your horse, but you just can’t put your finger on it? Please do get in touch - we’d love to help get to the root of the issue, and help bring your horse back into balance.

Ever noticed how your hay can look different from one year to the next? That’s because hay isn’t a constant - it varies based on weather, growing conditions, cutting timing, even drying methods.

And while your horse’s haynet or pile may stay the same size, what’s inside can change dramatically. That’s why we always recommend hay testing every year! 🌾

From best field maintenance tips to important information around harvesting, in our recent blog, “Hay Changes: Comparing Year to Year”, we dug into the nitty gritty of everything you need to know about the hay you're feeding your horse year-round.

👉 And because we're all about transparency and going the extra mile, we’ve included links to all our past hay test results at the bottom of the blog. Feel free to scroll back, compare what we’ve seen year over year, and learn how we translate that info into meaningful feeding choices.

Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) is more common than many owners realize, and often, the signs are hiding in plain sight.

Here’s what to watch for:

👉 Abnormal fat deposits: Think thick, crusty necks (cresty), fat pads over the tailhead, shoulders, or even around the eyes.
👉 Struggles with weight loss, even on a tightly controlled diet.
👉 Recurring bouts of laminitis, sometimes with no obvious trigger.
👉 And in more advanced cases: lethargy, increased drinking and urination, and infertility in mares.

Sound familiar?

EMS is essentially equine insulin resistance, and just like in humans, it can be managed, but not ignored. If left unchecked, it puts your horse at serious risk of chronic pain and systemic issues.

Prevention & management includes (always seek vet guidance):
✔️ A low-sugar, low-starch diet
✔️ Regular movement (especially those easy keepers!)
✔️ Smart supplementation

That’s where WIRX comes in, our whole-food formula specifically designed for horses with metabolic conditions like EMS, PPID/Cushing’s, and insulin resistance. WIRX helps lower insulin levels naturally, while supporting gut function, detox pathways, circulation, and inflammation, all with organic ingredients and zero additives.

Our plates are full of color and variation, so why aren’t our horses the same? 🍽️

As humans, we’ve learned that the key to good health lies in variety. Colorful, whole foods that nourish the gut, support immunity, and keep us thriving.

But what do our horses get? Beige, dry, highly processed pellets, often with synthetic vitamins, molasses, and fillers. And we expect them to perform, focus, digest well, and stay sound?

In the wild, horses forage instinctively, grazing not just grass, but herbs, berries, and weeds. They self-select what their bodies need, shifting seasonally and naturally supporting their own systems.

But our domesticated horses? If they’re lucky, they get a carrot 🥕... processed into a treat.

It’s no wonder so many horses today struggle with gut issues, ulcers, metabolic problems, and behavior changes. We've taken away their variety and replaced it with "convenience.”

We believe in bringing back what nature intended. Our supplements are whole-food, organic, and full of variety, like hedgerow herbs, chia seeds, vegetables, roots, and real plants that work with your horse’s body, not against it.

Two fan favorites, but what’s the difference? 🤔

Both formulas are rooted in the same powerful, published research, proving benefits like better gut motility, nutrient absorption, reduced colic risk, faster healing, less gastric inflammation, and improved stamina, but…

🌍 G’s International uses chia seeds instead of h**p. Matching the pace of the world and FEI views on feeding horses h**p, chia instead delivers omega‑3s, soluble fiber, protein, magnesium for calmness, and unique gut-supporting action like sand colic reduction. This h**p-free version is crafted to mirror the original formula’s gut‑healing potency, but with global accessibility.

G’s Formula uses organic h**p meal (free of THC and CBD, lab-tested), which contributes digestible protein and omega‑3/6/9, bringing anti-inflammatory perks and heart support. Its effects are supported by University-led trials showing real improvements in equine GI health, but is not yet widely promoted by governing bodies.

Both formulas share the same human-grade, organic ingredients - cabbage, oat flour, and carrots - delivering prebiotic fiber, vitamin U, antioxidants, and GI lining support.

Which one’s for you?

👉 Choose G’s Formula if you're wanting to see the benefits of feeding trialed and proven h**p https://bit.ly/3ZS1DVd
👉 Opt for G’s International if you’d like a h**p‑free version with the same gut‑healing goals https://bit.ly/44xcW6Z

“I’m always exploring ways to feed my horses that are natural, that I can pronounce, and like G’s products - things that I can eat myself! Working with Nelli has been great. She is always helping me analyze me horse's diets and come up with solutions.”

Andrea Taylor Dressage joined our program back in May of 2020, and since then, she’s been exploring the full G’s range, working closely with Nelli to tailor supplements that best support her dressage horses.

With a busy schedule of competitions and training, Andrea knows just how important gut health and overall well-being are, because keeping her horses in top form matters just as much as staying healthy herself.

Thanks for trusting us, Andrea! We're so proud to be part of your journey. 🙌

We believe real results come from real ingredients, not additives or preservatives, and Hedgerow is proof of that. 🌿

After years of development, we found the perfect blend of organic plants - designed to work with your horse’s body, not against it. Here's what we came up with:

🔹 Endocrine & hormone support
Got a ‘moody’ mare or a horse with PPID/Cushing’s? Hedgerow’s cleavers help to rebalance the endocrine system, which in turn rebalances hormone levels naturally, reducing the need for synthetic hormone treatments. Many of our clients have even weaned their horses off meds like Prascend under veterinary guidance.

🔹 Reduces reliance on pharmaceuticals
We’ve seen horses come off long-term meds and even antibiotics. Why? Because plants like dandelion root strengthen the immune system, support detox pathways, and help the body restore its own balance, naturally!

🔹 Lymphatic & detoxification support
Hedgerow contains cleavers and burdock root, both known to support the lymphatic system and clear out metabolic waste after illness, over-medication, or stress. It’s especially powerful for horses with lymphangitis, lymphoma, or lymphedema - or for those that travel often and may not move enough to keep lymphatic fluid circulating in the lower extremities.

🔹 Improved behavior & focus
Mares in season? Anxious geldings? Horses that just seem “off”? Plants like chamomile soothe the nervous system, helping your horse feel more centered, calm, and focused. And because Hedgerow supports endocrine and hormone balance, many behavior issues start to improve from the inside out.

🔹 Help heal persistent skin issues
The unique formula of Hedgerow has proven to help heal some of the trickiest skin issues that both topical and pharmaceutical tactics fail to address.

🔍 Backed by Nature. Built on Results.
We don’t just mix plants, we choose each one for its specific action. Hedgerow has helped countless horses feel better from the inside out, and it might be the missing piece in your horse’s diet!

Summer is well and truly here, and while we all enjoy a bit of sunshine, the season also brings its fair share of health concerns. Staying aware and watchful is key to keeping your horse healthy and happy during the hotter months.

Here’s what to watch out for:

👉 Sweet itch (aka summer eczema) affects roughly 5% of horses. Caused by hypersensitivity to midge bites, it often shows up as intense itching, especially around the mane, tail, and belly. Keep on the lookout for rubbing, hair loss, and skin inflammation. Many of our clients have seen calmer, more comfortable skin responses by supporting the immune system with Hedgerow, thanks to its natural anti-inflammatory herbs and detox support. And don’t overlook Spirulina - its immune-modulating properties can also help reduce sweet itch flare-ups naturally!

👉 Allergies can flare in response to pollen, dust, or even insect bites, leading to watery eyes, coughing, hives, or general discomfort. If your horse seems itchy, sneezy, or just not quite right, their immune system might need some help regulating its response. Did you know that Spirulina is a natural histamine-blocker, meaning that it can prevent allergic reactions?

👉 Dehydration is easy to miss but can escalate fast. Signs include dry gums, slow capillary refill, dark urine, lethargy, and reduced appetite or manure. Adding omega-3-rich, hydrating ingredients like chia can help maintain water balance and gut motility, even in the heat. And here’s a bonus - research from our G’s Formula trials showed horses actually increased their water intake when on the supplement, giving them a hydration edge during the hotter months.

Summer should be fun for you and your horse. A little extra awareness (and the right support) can go a long way in keeping them healthy and happy all season long. ☀️

The Story of G

The long story short of who we are, and what we do, is that we are horse people and we help horses.

This is the story of G, and how the company came to be...

I purchased G in November of 2007 for my daughter as her next dressage horse. For the first few years he was relatively healthy other than a recurring sinus infection that was eventually cured with several rounds of powerful antibiotics. By 2011 his health was deteriorating, he was having some mild colic episodes, recurring loose manure, and his work ethic was declining. He was put on several rounds of Omeprazole, Gastroguard, Sucralfate, and we tried many different hays, different vitamins, minerals, digestive aids, probiotics, Chiropractic, etc. Some made a bit of difference to his manure and diarrhea, but he grew more lethargic and unhappy. One day in 2013 he had foul discharge from one nostril, so we went to the hospital for suspected tooth infection. As it turned out he had abscesses throughout his sinus cavity, which took 4 ½ hours of surgery to clean up along with more antibiotics and pain meds.

Over the next few months the sinus healed, but his tummy got worse, and he had bouts of mild laminitis during the worst times. More ulcer meds, blood work, feed changes, but he was still not happy, was not rideable and started to look like an old worn-out horse. He had no topline muscle, a big bloated belly and poor coat. His bum and hind legs had to be washed every day. By November of 2015 we were out of options. He was obviously no longer enjoying life.
