Hey everyone! It's that time of year again when we actually post something on Facebook! 😄 And it's a beauty.

For the past decade, we've been ending our holiday lighting season by bringing light and joy to individuals, families and homes that need it most! Here's how it works!

1. You nominate a household that needs the extra light this season and we show up with smiles and lights and deck their house with joy for the holiday season!! This is not about economics but rather about giving an emotional lift to people who have had an especially rough year and you KNOW could use the extra light.

Please send your nominations to [email protected] by this Monday, December 2nd and we'll show up and do the rest!

Hey everyone from Qualicum to Oak Bay and every town in between. It's that time of year for our annual Lush Holiday Light Giveway!!!

Every year in December you nominate a household who you feel could use some extra light this year and we come bearing lights of all colours! This is about bringing a feeling of cheer to a house that desperately needs it. Perhaps they lost their life partner and this will be their first Christmas alone. Or perhaps they or a loved one has recently been diagnosed with an illness. Maybe they lost their job. Or the energy to hope. Whatever the reason, tis the season. And we believe in the power of light!

Please send your story submissions to [email protected] and me and my merry men will be out the week of December 11th to bring forth some holiday cheer.

6 weeks ago, we launched a new Lush division focused on exterior cleaning. We knew there were many established companies offering similar services but we were hopeful that we could compete with our great service, loyal clients and commitment to perfection.

With the talented Zach Ollett as our fearless leader and Ethan Close as his smart and very tall assistant, they strode out, determined to chase away moss and grime, one house at a time.

Since then, the boys have cleaned 42 houses. Windows. Driveways. And decks. We've also added new products and services the most recent being wood deck restoration. No, we're not builders but it's shocking what the right cleaning agents can do. And we could save you thousands of dollars.

If you'd like to have your home, pool deck, windows, walkways or driveway looking its best for summer, while we're fully booked in May, we can get there in June! :)

We feel overwhelmed with gratitude for being embraced, trusted and accepted onto your properties. Thank you for your trust, referrals and for these wonderful words...

Justin is on his astounding 11th year at Lush and is the tall happy man you want trimming your hedges, trees and anything else that requires a ladder. When he's not standing above you, he's running alongside you with a wheelbarrow. He's a one in a billion employee and we count our lucky stars every year when The King returns.

Now that we're finally out mowing on a regular basis again, we wanted to introduce you to Cody and Isaiah! These dashing young fellers will be responsive for your straight lines and sharp edges! Every spring, nice people everywhere venture out into their yard, glance down at what's left of their lawn and after cursing they dramatically murmur..."maybe we should just finally pull the rip cord."

Usually what they mean is, they're tired of fighting with something that can't be watered anyway and well what's the point. We hear you. But, you do have options. Here's 3!

1. Pull the rip cord. Just make sure you have a parachute and video camera.

2. Replace the lawn with something you actually like and/or will grow.

3. Hire a professional who knows how to take care of a lawn.

We can help you with all 3. Well, 2.5. (we'll hold the video camera)

NEW!! Lush House Washing Division.

They say there are only two certainties in life - death and taxes. For those of us who live on the West Coast, we know there's a few more. Moss!! Algae. WEEEEDS.

For the past 14 years, we've been removing moss (and weeds) from clients' lawns. I imagine we always will. Meanwhile, those same green monsters have grinned down at us from above while "bleeding," down the side of your house. Ok fine, moss doesn't bleed, as much satisfaction as that might give us. But the truth is, that green gunk on your gutters and siding is algae, microscopic organisms that thrive in our rain-soaked and humid environment. While algae have numerous benefits for our planet, hanging out on our house is not one of them.

Over the years, we've been asked to take action! "Just do your Lush Eco magic, like you've done with our lawn and garden." It's a fair and generous request but we've always declined for two reasons.

1. We're too busy on the ground.
2. We're opposed to toxic chemicals.

In the past decade, a revolution has begun on the roof. Siding. And Gutters. Where force (power washing) and toxicity (Tide, Moss-out etc.) once reigned, soft washing has taken their place. Rather than fighting toxicity with more toxicity, we are now able to offer a low-pressure water, bleach and a fruity-smelling soap solution that can deal with all the green monsters on your house without compromising the people, pets and plants you've come to love.

This winter we allocated a large chunk of capital and as of March 1, we officially have a Lush House Washing Division. Three Cheers for Lush!!
