Took a break from handing out launch invites today (700 so far!) to spend some time with Ruadh.

This is part of the “guess what I want game” - in this case it’s bringing me the objects on the mat. One is new to her and quite heavy and her metal food dish was introduced as an “object in play” just yesterday so I’m pretty generous with reinforcement even for just the sound of a tooth making contact with the rim.

This is Ruadh learning to expand her repertoire to include metal objects.

It’s “dog-faming” time again. 😁🐾
A year ago, Taavi was a screaming horror show about having his nails done. He’d had a rough time at his first home and a couple really bad experiences with his toesies before he found his forever home.

His people have worked so hard and he’s learned so many new skills. He no longer engages in unsanctioned three-legged activity in the house, has traded his whirling dervish walking style for one that looks more like, y’know, actual walking and he’s even decided that Toes-day is an acceptable event - as long as we use the dremel and tell him how handsome and clever he is.

Nice work, Riley, Matt and Miranda!🐾💗

I may have done most of my editing in coffee shops, but this lovely place fed me and housed me while I was holed up during my authors’ retreat, dictating the first draft and wondering what I’d got myself into.
