Raw feeding is easy if you know where to start! If your pet is currently on a kibble based diet and you're interested in making the switch here's a few easy ways to get started!

✅ Step 1: Come and visit us at Lucky Paws! (Jk, but not really!)
✅ Step 2: Start by soaking your pets kibble with a probiotic, like X-Traws Raw Sheep Milk or Kefir at morning mealtime. Be sure to read the directions, portions will be different depending on how much food your dog is eating. The key is that you don't want it to look like cereal; too much milk to kibble!
✅ Step 3: Introduce raw foods at night feeding. If you've got a puppy, try Raw Beginnings line! Your dogs weight will determine portion size.
✅ Step 4: Slowly you can start introducing raw for all meals!

Since Canada Day (and fireworks) are on the horizon, we put together some tips for you to help keep your pet happy and calm during the show! 🥰
-
✅ If you know your pet reacts poorly to fireworks, consider having an anxiety calmer or pheromone diffuser on hand to keep them calm.
✅ Walk your dog prior to the fireworks starting
✅ Block out some of the noise and lights by keeping curtains closed
✅ Have a safe place for your pet to hide and comfort themselves - like a crate or den like enclosure.
✅ Don't bring your dog to the display, leave them home instead. If you know they get frightened, make sure someone is there with them.
✅ Try not to coddle or comfort your pet if they are anxious and looking for a place to hide. This may indicate to them that something is wrong and cause them more stress.
✅ Small pets? Provide them extra bedding to burrow in, and cover the birdcage or hutch with a blanket to dampen the noise.

Let's talk about bone broth 🙌

Bone broth is made from simmering bone and connective tissue for 24 hours or more. What you end up with is a tasty treat for your dog that's nutrient dense! When feeding, start with a few tablespoons to make sure your pups tummy is okay with it. Give it to them in a bowl or over add it to their regular food!
