My name is Karen Kress, and I am a Reiki Practitioner. I am from a small town in southern Saskatchewan on the edge of the U.S. Border, Val Marie Saskatchewan – Prairie Dog Town, now more known as Grassland National Park. I lived in Val Marie all my life until 2002, when I moved to Medicine Hat. I am married to a wonderful man who is not only my husband, but my best friend. I am a mother to three g
rown children, my beautiful daughter and two handsome sons. I am also a step mom to a beautiful step daughter and two handsome step sons. I have a baby grandson. Two years ago as I was working outside in our yard, I had a voice say to me, “You need to take Reiki”. I said ‘ok’, as I looked around and there was no one there but me. So the next day I went into town and purchased books about Reiki, a month later I enrolled in Reiki classes and I now have my Level 2 in Reiki. Before a voice told me to take Reiki I had had many treatments done on myself from other Reiki practitioners. They and Reiki have helped me with my health. So it is only fitting that I in return want to help others of all ages. Reiki helps the body to heal itself. Reiki heals on a physical, spiritual and emotional level. Reiki is a simple natural method of healing, that can be used by anyone regardless of belief system or religion, and is very effective for some in improving quality of life and emotional, as well as physical well-being. Using a “laying of hands” technique, the practitioner will pass their hands over the body, sending Reiki energy to where it needs to go. Because our needs vary, we can pretty much use healing anytime, all the time. It makes me feel so warm inside when people tell me how they felt during and days after their Reiki treatment.
