What a beautiful long weekend! I don’t think we’ve ever had better weather for Victoria Day.☀️☀️☀️

I’m expecting the phones will be busy this week as a result of the warmer temperatures. Please be patient and leave 1 message, I will return calls by the end of the day when I’m not busy with a dog on the table. We are booked solid this week but have openings available next week still. Please plan ahead and keep your pups comfortable in the warm months ahead by pre-booking your appointments.

We took our dog Atlas to Durham’s NEW dog park grand opening this morning! He made new friends, played and enjoyed some treats. So great to have this available to every dog in town. It’s great they have both a small dog and separate large dog play area. Go by the arena and check it out.

Spring is here! And it’s our busiest time of year. To add to the busyness, another local groomer in town is moving away, so we will be accepting some of her clients. This means our schedule will begin to fill up quickly this summer. Priority will be given to our clients on a schedule that prebook their appointments. It is recommended your dogs be on a 6-8 week schedule and please book at least one or two appointments ahead to avoid delays. If there is any extra availability we will continue booking our less frequent visitors in as well, but you will likely need to wait for availability so please plan ahead.

Since opening our storefront with retail, it’s been a learning curve to find the right hours for our business. While we are pretty happy with our current hours it is apparent the storefront sales are not high enough to support staffing, unless we are grooming as well. To keep the business at its most profitable that means we may need to close the store on occasion should the salon be closed as well. Closure would occur for thing like illness, doctors or banking appointments, vacation time and the like. Should our regular hours be altered we will do our best to post changes on social media pages in advance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but it is a necessary for a healthy work to life balance. That said, during our busy season we may stay late grooming some days and you may find out storefront open past our regular hours! Please feel free to stop in and shop if we are there.

Is your dog getting snowpants!?!
We recommend regular grooming over the winter months to keep the snow balls away. Longer hair collects snow, takes longer to dry out and begins to matt, which doesn’t keep your pup warmer. We recommend about a 1/2” trim over the winter months to keep your dog comfortable, and if they really need some extra protection for the cooler weather a warm coat will do the trick.
