ADOPTION PENDING!

Heddy | Corgi-Chihuahua Mix | Female | 12lbs. | 18 months | Fostered in Waterloo |

Hi there! My name is Heddy. I'm a 12lb, 18 month old Corgi/Chihuahua mix. Let's get the necessities out of the way: I'm house trained, crate trained, and I get along with other dogs and everyone I meet. I haven't seen cats since I came here, but I think they'd be cool.

Now, let's talk about the real me. I have a lot of love and kisses to give! I can be a bundle of energy but you'll also find me flopped out snoozing. I love to squeak soft toys, but I don't destroy them. Tug of war is also fun. I use my mouth a lot in play, but I can be redirected from fingers to toys quite easily.

My foster sister is a bit older than me and she isn't as playful. Sometimes I need to cool it when I want to engage her in play. If there is another dog at your house, a slightly larger dog who loves to play would be a good match for me I think. Older kids might be better too, since I can get wound up and need someone to calm me down.

I love to be outside, and walk well on a leash. I used to jump at cars, but now I'm getting used to them. I'm told it's rude to stare at people and other dogs too much, so I'm learning to ignore them and keep walking when we are out. I like to chase squirrels and birds in the backyard, but I do it quietly. The yard does need to have a secure fence for me.

I'm pretty quiet overall. Nighttime is quiet time, although I might voice my displeasure if I'm put in the crate during the day. I get over it pretty quick.

I can get into mischief if I'm left on my own, but I don't mind snoozing in my crate if my foster parents are busy or have to leave for a bit. I'd like to have someone home with me most of the time.

Adoption Fee for Heddy: $650.00

ADOPTED!

Baby Ruth | Wire Haired Terrier Mix | Female | 2 years | 24lbs. | Fostered in Caledonia |

Looking for a loyal companion with just the right mix of energy and chill? Say hello to Baby Ruth, a sweet pup who’s ready to find her forever home filled with love, routine, and maybe a few extra belly rubs.

Ruth is a wire haired terrier mix about 2 years old and weighs about 24 lbs. She is full of love and wants nothing more than to be close to her people.

One look at you with those big brown eyes and it’s easy to see what a beautiful,
loyal girl she is. She loves all new people she meets and would happily live with
children 5 years and up.

Ruth is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs—playful, friendly, and always up for a game of chase in the yard. She’s great on a leash and enjoys her daily walks, but she’s happiest when she gets some room to run and stretch her legs outside. She would love a fenced yard in her forever home.

Despite her playful side, Ruth isn’t one to bark nonstop; she’s more of a quiet observer but will bark at times. She would happily live with cats but chases the rabbit in her foster home. Ruth prefers not to be crated and sleeps all night happily in her foster mom’s bed. She can be left free roaming in the house when her people aren’t home.

Ruth feels most secure when her humans are around more often than not, so she’s looking for a family or someone who
works from home, is retired, or just enjoys a quieter, home-centered life, especially if
she is the only dog in the home.

If you’re ready for a devoted companion who’ll stick by your side and bring extra joy to your every day, Ruth might just be your perfect match!

Adoption Fee for Ruth: $650.00

Rosie would love a fur sibling or some kids of her own, to keep her company and to meet her exercise needs.

She is eager to learn new things and responds well to correction. She would do great in puppy training.

Doe | Chihuahua Mix | Female | 3 years | 10lbs. | Fostered in Chatham | Available

Hi there! I'm Doe.

I'm a 10ish lbs, 3 year old female chihuahua mix. I'm a little ball of energy. My foster mom says I'm still like a puppy. If you're looking for a buddy to run with or go on hikes, I'm your gal! I love adventures and going to new places to explore. Once we're done for the day I love to cuddle up with you and nap by your side.

I also love toys! I leave a path of stuffing everywhere I go. I can play fetch too! I would love to learn lots of tricks, I already know how to sit and go through a tunnel. I'm currently learning how to spin. I enjoy the company of my foster sisters and really need a fursibling of my own to play with and burn off my energy. I'm cool with dogs my size and calm bigger dogs. I've been around cats before and would be fine living with them.

I would love to have a backyard to play in but I am totally fine without one. As long as I get enough exercise. I would do best in a home that isn't an apartment or condo though; I am quiet for the most part but can get loud when you leave or come home.

Young children wouldn't be a match for me, teenagers that are calm would work as I tend to get nippy when excited. I am an excellent learner, treats or toys are big motivators for me.

If you'd like to meet me, apply today!

Adoption Fee for Doe: $650.00

Horus | Australian Shepherd/Cattledog mix | Male | 1 year | 70lbs. | Fostered in McGregor, ON |

Hi. My name is Horus. I am a 1 year old male 70lb Australian Shepherd mix breed.

I am neutered, up to date on shots.

I am looking for my forever home. I came from Louisiana, as I was lucky enough to have a foster home to come to. I’m a very gentle and super friendly big boy. I love to play with my foster brothers, one is a dog & one is a cat.

And people, oh boy I just love people. I’d really like to have an active family. I love the outdoors, even the snow. I still have my crazy “puppy” time when I get the zoomies.

I do excellent on my walks, sniffing and scoping things out. I also do really well in the car, I watch everything & everyone as we pass by. I sit quietly in the car and don’t jump around.

I’m a very smart boy, and learn things quickly. I am house trained, so no accidents in the house. I am also crate trained. When foster Mom says she has to go to work, I immediately go into my crate and wait for my “good boy treat”.

I do sleep in the bed at night with foster Mom and my foster brother. I love to stretch out real big. I do well being bathed, ear cleaning & nails trimmed. I’m very gentle with my mouth, no snapping or grabbing food. I have good manners and I’m a very handsome boy.

Please consider me to be part of your family.

If you think I might be a fit for you, please submit an application using the link below.

Jojo | Maltese-Shih-Tzu mix | 11 years old | 9 lbs. | Fostered in Oshawa | Available

Jojo is a sweet cuddly 9lb little man who is about 11 years old.

He came from the warmth of Louisiana and he is not sure about this cold weather and snow.

Jojo likes to spend his days napping and wrapped in a blanket and loves to lay beside his human while sitting on the couch and through the night in bed..... Yes he likes to sleep on the human bed.

Jojo is working on his house training and he is finally going to the back sliding doors on his own to let us know he wants to go do his business but he still needs to be taken out frequently.

Jojo does not seem to be treat driven so lots of praise is given when he goes outside. He walks well on a leash but he does not seem interested in walking in the cold because he has not left our front lawn while on the leash.

He has kidney issues so he needs to eat special food for his this and will need to stay on special food for his lifetime. He also has been prone to yeast infections on his skin and in his ears.

Jojo likes to say hello to anyone who walks in the house or in a room by letting out his little bark.

Jojo is best suited for someone who is home more, being the only dog is best as he does growl at our dog from time to time. Also, he is best suited for a home with no small children since he is so small.

Adoption Fee for Jojo: $325.00

Dusty | Dachshund Mix | Male | 11 months | 23 lbs. | Fostered in Burlington | Available

Introducing Dusty: an 11 month old, male, 23lb, Dachshund mix.

Dusty is a loving and playful, 11 month old pup. He is a dachshund cross but has longer legs than is typical, and has a good solid build. His short flat coat is caramel coloured, thick and soft, and does shed a little bit.

He loves people, though he is shy at first. He warms up quickly and is friendly with everyone he meets. Dusty is dedicated to his people and is very excited to see them.

In the house he has excellent manners with no marking or destructive behaviour. He is mostly quiet, but will sometimes bark at passing people and dogs, surprising noises, and when someone comes in the house. He is mostly housetrained, and just needs more practice "asking" to go outside.

He plays well with toys, and will sometimes toss things for himself to chase. He is crate trained, and goes easily into it with a treat when he is home alone. He is quiet at night for the most part, though he will sometimes bark if he is startled awake. He loves to explore and sniff around the backyard. Because he is a nose-driven hound, he must have a secure outdoor space.

Dusty is learning to walk properly on a leash, but he does still pull a little bit. He is curious about other dogs he meets on walks, and will sometimes bark or jump towards them. He has not shown any “leash-aggression”. He has not been cat-tested, but he chases squirrels and birds when he sees them. He does not seem to be bothered by the cold weather and snow.

He responds to his name and comes most of the time when called. Being food and socially motivated has made learning new things like “come”, “settle” and “sit” very easy so far. He does still jump on people when excited.

He does not seem to guard food or toys. However, he tends to be possessive of attention from his people around more passive dogs. He would do best as an only dog, or may do well with a more confident older dog as a mentor.

Being a puppy, Dusty still has a lot to learn, and needs someone who is home enough to give him continued training, consistent structure and plenty of exercise to keep building good habits. We recommend a training course to build a bond and obedience. He is food motivated and eager to please, but also has a strong, excitable puppy personality, so he is looking for a confident leader owner to guide him. Based on his maturity level, size and puppy needs, we recommend only kids 13+ in the home.

Dusty is ready to thrive with someone who can offer him the time, leadership, guidance, and love that he needs.

Adoption fee for Dusty: $775.00
