Chira and I are back from CWDF Nationals and we had a blast. We didn’t make the points I had hoped for but I’ve never been more proud of my dog or happier with our performance. We finished with 80-83-87a and were awarded High Scoring Female.
This was both of our first times travelling long distance for a trial, Chira handled it like a seasoned pro and settled into her work right away. She gave it her all in each phase, we lost some silly handler points in ob and had some holes in our training pop up during prep that I didn’t have time to fix. For how few protection sessions she’s had this year I’m thrilled with how she showed. Tracking is a work in progress with me changing everything this spring but it was a huge improvement from last years trials and showed we are on the right track.
I was asked a lot if we were happy with the scores we put up and I couldn’t help but smile and say yes. Everyone wants more points. We could have done 3 V routines and I still could have picked at where we lost those couple points. My dog put her whole heart onto the field in each phase, completed every exercise, she worked her ass off and that’s what matters at the end of the day. We had fun, we did it together, and I hope I get many more opportunities to do the same thing with her for years to come.
I have some very exciting new plans for Chira that I hope come to fruition in the next few weeks ❤️
We got evacuated for a wildfire that was a bit too close for comfort to our town last week, I don’t think the dogs minded city life one bit 😂
Going to the park 2-3 times a day, snuggling in the hotel and getting vet and chiro appointments caught up on was definitely a highlight of the unplanned trip but we’re also very happy to be back home 🏠
Literally all of my training with Roscoe at this point is a blooper reel. No better time to mess up your dogs training then 2 weeks from trial 😂
Note to self: Roscoe is not Chira 😅
Tracking season is finally here, so excited for the snow to be gone and to spend every morning out doing the sniffy things with my best girl ❤️
Happy 1st birthday to the Chira x Cay litter!

So excited to see the first nugs step onto the trial field this year and continue being loved endlessly by their families for many years to come ❤️
When you look through training videos and find this golden commentary 😂
Leave my butthole eyed children alone @_mi.canines 😂
Just me taking my feral son out of retirement (again) to attempt his IGP3 in May. Roscoe hasn’t worked since he did his PDC last August and boy did it show 😂
Here’s to working secondary ob every day for the next 3 months in hopes the boy can keep his head screwed on for 1 more trial 😬
Baby Spice 🥰
Can’t believe how close we are to her first birthday 😭
💕 Aura 10 months 💕
First day back at “club” in 4 months for the big puppy. I’m in love with everything about this little dog, new place, first time heeling in a group and around people. She’s just the coolest, reminds me of her mother so much and I’m so thankful for her 🥲

Marbles doing normal Marbles things, having the time of his life yelling at people and doing bitey things 🥹
Thank you @bananaslugfilms for the videos ❤️
