It’s been almost 2 years since baby Hank received his Annie and Bee’s flirt pole as a gift from his human granny. He and his family had been playing with it for two years and the rope was down to a foot long. For Christmas this year, Hank received a new rope and toy for his flirt pole and he is one happy boy! 😊❤️🐾

In the summer of 1923, Frank and Elizabeth Fraser and their two-year-old dog set out from Oregon, Indiana, to visit family. When they stopped for gas at a service station in Indiana, the dog was attacked by other three dogs and fled. They searched everywhere for him, but in the end could not find him. They returned to Oregon heartbroken, believing they would never see their beloved dog again. After losing all hope, one day their daughter saw a skinny and exhausted dog on the street that looked like Bobby. After his joyful reaction, it turned out to be the missing dog Thanks to the people who sheltered him during the journey, they were able to reconstruct the complete route he crossed.
To see his family again, he crossed almost 2500 miles (4,000 kilometers) in six months. He hiked across the Rocky Mountains in the middle of winter and ended up being nicknamed "Bobby the Wonder Dog." He was the inspiration for the movie "Lassie Returns".

I’m not impressed by perfection.

I’m not impressed by obedience.

I’m not impressed by endless down stays or heeling dogs void of joy or recalls by way of fear avoidance.

I’m not impressed by quick fixes.

I’m not impressed by any fixes that place compliance above wellbeing.

I’m not impressed by power and control.

I’m not impressed by coercion.

What impresses me is compassion.

I’m impressed by kindness, patience, and humor.

I’m impressed by dogs with opinions who aren’t afraid to be their true selves and people who make that possible.

I’m impressed by relationships built on reciprocity, cooperation, and consent.

I’m impressed by teaching that’s informed by what’s most ethical and humane, not just by whether or how quickly it works.

I’m impressed by joy.

I’m impressed by imperfect people loving imperfect dogs…just as they are.

I’m impressed by every single person who each day chooses compassion over perfection in a world that tells us otherwise.

It’s so not a ruff life when I get to help to socialize Momma Harmony and one of her puppies, Hippo, thanks to Karla and Cam Alsop. Harmony and Hippo and his siblings are soon to be up for adoption through G.E.A.R.S. in the not too distant future! SUPER sweet!
