In Memory of Barley ...
Today, Who's a Good Girl? is giving a heartfelt shout out to the Gohl-Eacrett family. It takes a very special group of compassionate Angels to take the leap of faith, brave the elements of an intense January central Alberta winter blizzard, to follow their hearts and rescue a wee soul in dire need of love and care.
But, that is what you did, and there was no stopping you.
Returning home with Barley, the challenges begun, but your love only grew. Your patience, perseverance, tenderness, and care gave Barley a chance. A chance to try to trust, a chance to experience love, a chance to be more than the pain he had endured. Although it was estimated that Barley was approximately 5 years old, he only truly lived during the 7 months he was in the loving care of your family.
Today we remember. We remember sweet Barley. We remember that no animal should ever have to endure the pain, the neglect, and the cruelty that a breeding mill can inflict. Today we also remember the Angels who walk amongst us and do everything in their power to make this world a better place for all creatures, great and small.
Your efforts to “Never forget him and his story” has had a profound impact on the Who's a Good Girl? team. Your support of the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), and the Humane Animal Rescue Team (HART), continues to help save so many more innocent furry Angels. As you said to us, ”None deserve what they go through and each is special.”
We remember. We will not forget. We give thanks for people like you.
It was beyond an honor to be part of Barley's care team and share in his journey and story.
Love Heather, Jill, and Paula
