Dragonfruit Exotica | Male | Spotted Street Tabby (DSH) |

Rescue Story:
I am just one of many kittens who were born on the streets who needed help. Zoe's took the kittens that the lady found and is helping us all find great homes!

Date of Birth: July 2025

Energy Level: High

Size (adult): Medium

Adoption Fee: $225

Good with Dogs? Maybe
Maybe if calm and cat friendly, with proper introductions I might be ok.
Good with Cats? Must have a cat friend
I must be adopted to a home that has at least one young cat or adopted with another kitten.
Good with Kids? Unknown
If gentle and understanding that I like personal space, then most likely.
Critter Twitter:

I am one handsome spotted boy. I have quite the cool spots and such a regal look to me. I love to play but not as over the top as my brother. I enjoy exploring the house and finding toys to play with. I am the purrfect kitten for someone looking for a kitty who is independent but still has as affectionate side. I have the most expressive face, you can tell if I am annoyed. Like if I am woken up to get photographs when I wasn't quite ready for my close up, the stink eye I can give is quite impressive. Oh well I still look good though.

About my Behaviour:

I tend to prefer to ask to be petted and loved on. I am more of an independent boy who will let you know when I want to be loved or not. I am the ideal kitty for someone who doesn't want a needy kitty.

I love to play with my brother. As long as you have a young cat to play with me, or adopt another kitten I will respect any senior kitties need for space. I must be adopted to a home that has another young cat or adopted with another young kitty. I wouldn't be happy as an only cat.

How’s my Health?

I am fixed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. I must be fed at least one meal of wet food a day for hydration. Wet food is important, as it's best for kitties, so please make sure it's in my diet. Wet food is higher in protein and can be lower in carbs. It also gives added moisture, which is important, as dry-food-only-fed cats tend to be dehydrated, which can lead to UTIs.

Critter Twitter:

I am one very handsome, very outgoing boy. I am more of a dog-cat. I love adventures, exploring and I love water. I will even hop in the bath sometimes. My foster thinks I am just one cool kitty. I am often too busy playing to cuddle but I will come and demand pets when I want them. I am great kitty who would make a great adventure cat. I can't wait for my next grand adventure in my forever home.

About my Behaviour:

I love to play with my brother Dragonfruit. As long as you have a young cat to play with me, or adopt another kitten I will respect any senior kitties need for space. I wouldn't be happy as an only cat, I am too kitty social and I love playing with young cats who can keep up with my level of energy. If you have no other kitties, check out all the other adoptable kittens like me who need a great home to. My bro and I do make for a great pair.

Dora Explora | Female | Domestic Tabby (DSH) |

Rescue Story:
I was abandoned at a rental house with my newborn baby. Sadly my baby passed away a few days while in care, fading kitten syndrome is a horrible thing but I am glad my baby didn't suffer. I am now ready to find my forever home now that I am spayed. I can't wait to find my true forever home.

Date of Birth: June 7, 2023 (est)

Energy Level: High

Size (adult): Small (8lbs)

Adoption Fee: $170

Good with Dogs? Unknown
Never met one, so not sure.
Good with Cats? Very specific cat(s) only
I don't make a good first impression, but with slow proper introductions I am fine with big cats.
Good with Kids? Maybe
Older kids only who will respect my space or no kids.
Critter Twitter:

I am one brave, confident girl who would be an excellent adventure cat. I am friendly to all I meet but just make sure that they understand my cues and only pet the back of my head. I respond to being called, probably better than most dogs! I love human attention and being petted. But I also really love my playtime. I love spring toys, and I love wand toys. Be sure to set some time aside to play with me to burn off my energy; I am still a young cat after all. I have started to really become quite affectionate, and I love to sleep with you every night. doratheexlpora

About my Behaviour:

Ok, folks, I have some requests.
1. I hate being brushed, so a soft brush like a Kong brush may be fine. Treat bribes are appreciated.
2. I can get overstimulated when being petted, so watch my cues; if my tail is swishing or my ears are to the side, stop petting. Also, only pet the back of my head or back; no belly or sides. As I get older I may get less overstimulated, and playing me out frequently a day will help as well.
3. I would be thrilled to be the only cat. I am ok with very cat-friendly cats with slow, proper introductions, however. Especially if I have lots of resources and get a lot of playtime.

How’s my Health?

I am fully vetted. I should have at least one meal of wet food a day (preferably two) to help with hydration. I actually love wet food! Free feeding is not recommended as I was abandoned and as such will overeat. But leaving a tiny bit out (if I am an only cat) while you are away at work is fine.

We have been asked before but why don't we adopt out pups in pairs? It's simple to prevent littermate syndrome.

So what is litter mate syndrome?
It is behavioral issue in puppies that occurs when they bond too strongly with each other, leading to a dependence that hinders their socialization with humans and other animals. This can result in behavioral problems like separation anxiety, aggression, fear of new experiences, and difficulty with training.

If you did adopt two pups, how do you prevent it?
-Separate socialization: Ensure puppies have individual experiences to help them bond with you and other people and dogs.
Individual training: Conduct training sessions separately so each puppy can focus on the lesson.
-Separate living spaces: Provide separate sleeping and resting areas for each puppy.
-Manage interactions: Supervise interactions with other dogs and people and provide structure to their day.
-Gradual separation: If separation is necessary, start with short periods and gradually increase the duration to help them adjust to being apart.

If you are dealing with a bonded pair of dogs who has littermate syndrome find a great force free trainer to help your dogs.

This weekend is going to be brutal overnight! Make sure to check your tire wells and hood before starting your car/truck! Ensure to keep your pets inside too as it's going to be too cold for any critter to be out.

Our Story

Founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 2012 - Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society has quickly become a respected non profit that works across provincial and national borders to do as much good as possible. We have adopted out close to 3,000 animals. We take in stray and surrendered animals and can provide courtesy posts for helping rehome pets. We also offer supportive programs such as SNR (Spay Neuter Return), Helping Hand low cost veterinary care and Community Pet Food Sharing to provide support to low-income families and marginalized communities. Our goal is to match each of our foster animals with the home that is perfect for them. Our in-depth adoption process was developed with that in mind and has resulted in a less than 4% return rate. Our fosters are more just animals to us. They are a cherished life, each with a story and a desire to love and be loved. Our fosters do not leave our hearts once their adoption is finalized and our adopters become part of our family. Our door (or inbox) is always open for questions, updates, or, of course, photos. Once a Zoe’s animal, always a Zoe’s animal.
