What kind of leashes does everyone use?

Using fabric leashes, rather than a retractable leash, is safer for your animal.

Before going into Veterinary Medicine I also used retractable leashes - no one have ever told me that there are serious hazards!

Risks like; lock malfunction, less control in emergencies, accidently cutting or causing friction burns, etc.

Considering all of these potential hazards, and then going on to see injuries in real life - I elected to switch to a sturdier leash

Usually i would also prefer a harness !

If your dog needed an exam - would they be good to handle?
I always suggest practicing veterinary scenarios with your pets to desensitize them.
Practicing touch cues like “tummy, paws, teeth” etc, not only makes the life of veterinary professionals easier - but also creates a less stressful event for your furry friend.
