Our team helps the families of our community live happier and more fulfilling lives by improving the health of their pets through disease prevention; early detection of illness & practical application of advanced medical and surgical therapies. We have an exotic vet on staff who will see Birds and pocket pets (no reptiles). We also have a vet who does some endoscope work and vasectomy surgery. We

currently have some local rescues that we are partnered with to provide care for animals while in the rescue, including vaccines, spay and neuter, microchip and medical issues.

Continuing our staff reintroductions today with Dr. Kelti Kachur, one of our exceptional veterinarians on staff 👩‍⚕️

Dr. Kachur has been with WILDNorth for over 10 years. Beyond getting to see beautiful wildlife up close, she enjoys performing the orthopedic surgeries that our patients often require. When asked about her favorite animal to work with, she said, "All raptors—their beauty and untamed spirit are inspiring." When Dr. Kachur is not working as a veterinarian at WILDNorth or in domestic practice, she enjoys playing sports, fly fishing, photography, and traveling.

One way Dr. Kachur helps protect wildlife in her everyday life is by advocating for peaceful coexistence between humans and wildlife. She encourages people to make small but meaningful changes—such as keeping windows safe for birds and ensuring pets do not chase or hunt wildlife. Kelti's advice to those interested in wildlife rehabilitation is: "It is a lot of hard work and not glamorous, but the chance to handle a wild species and see them released is amazing."

WILDNorth is incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated veterinarian like Dr. Kachur, whose time, expertise, and passion help protect northern Alberta's wildlife. Join us in thanking her for her dedication and hard work!

Why is dental care so important with your pet?
Bacteria buildup causes plaque and tartar build up, which in turns damages the gums, which allows more bacteria in but down beside the root of the tooth. This leads to swollen painful gums, recessed gumline, bone loss and diseased teeth and roots.
Proper dental cleanings done by your veterinarian can keep the teeth healthy and happy.
