There was a situation once 8 years ago. where an animal was picked up not on the Owners property - he was removed from the community. he had been hanging around another property for days on end, digging in the garbage looking for food. The dog was being a nuisance to the home, tearing up garbages, eating the homeowners dogs kibble. So the dog was posted locally to buy n sell pages. to find the dogs owner. From which the homeowner was then removed from the buy and sell page, for trying to find the owner and posting a dog - all the finder wanted was to find the actual owner to come To collect their dog. The buy sell posts were ignored, deleted. And sadly it was learned at a later date: MANY PEOPLE SAW THE POSTS!!!!
there were many people who knew who owned the dog, BUT nobody said anything to the owner or the person who found the dog, until it was too late.
The dog was taken out of the community.
it was a learning experience. For me. As a rescuer. The cruelty of humans. The lack of empathy for the animal or the human missing their pet.
I have posted this dog to our local pages to the area that this dog was found, and nobody has contacted the page to inquire about the dog. There were a few comments on the post, which makes me think - do we know who the owner is? saying the rescuer should have left the dog on the highway. “To go home” is sad. an animal on the highway will definitely go home one way or another. not in the way you wish.
To suggest somebody who cares about animals should leave an animal to the fate, of possibly being hit and killed, or left to suffer until death, rather than help is ridiculous.
The dog is in a safe location and can easily be brought home. However, the dog will be rehomed in 10 days if nobody contacts the page and there will be nothing that anyone can do about that !! if you know who owns this dog, let them know to contact the page. There is no cost involved to getting your dog back. The person who took your dog was only concerned for the safety of the animal - nobody is stealing your dog. Nobody wants to have to find your dog a new home or find them deceased. best case scenario is somebody sees this post, and knows who this dog belongs to and lets them know to contact the page as soon as possible, because once 10 days is up, there are no guarantees what will happen with this dog. I can guarantee the dog will be adopted and from that point there is nothing that can be done, so let’s not play games. If you know who owns the dog, let them know the contact page. Ask around- it’s a small place. If you are in Keg river, ask wiring please, Help me help this dog.

One of the hardest parts about Rescue is seeing a situation that I know that I can’t do anything about. It’s heartbreaking when I’m seeing posts about puppies dropped off at the dump. By the time I get there who knows. I dealt with this for eight years when I was at home and you know Id drive all the way out there and by the time i got there there’s no puppies ,so as much as I want to help with situations like this, I can’t make trips without somebody having the puppies in their care.prayers up for these babies that they find a kind soul who cares,

She’s on her way!! Her journey to Calgary - has started. She crossed the river on the barge, and made it to La Crete for the night. Tomorrow I pick her up in the morning to take her to Innisfail. I can’t wait to meet this sweety.

 the vet recommended euthanize 😞 prayers up for the little one.

I received a message this morning about a kitten that was found on the side of the road by Wainwright. It’s not looking good for the poor little thing. The kitten is at guardian vet. She’s a little black kitty. No picture it was an emergency- the lady didn’t take a picture. If you can donate to her vetting, she’s at guardian, in Edmonton - please pray for this bean. Someone put her on the highway. Someone is responsible for this. It’s sad. And sickening that people dump these babies

*I did not intake the kitten, I was helping the finder to the best of my ability.

Finalizing the transportation of this little peanut. She will be dropped off with the transporter tomorrow evening and will be hitting the road to Edmonton Monday morning. I look forward to posting once she arrives.

Late last night, My friends dog passed away. after fighting for her life from an unprovoked attack. We cried together. She knows I know the hurt she’s feeling. All I could do was be there. To hold space, The hole in her chest, where her heart once sat. Empty. The silence is deafening. losing your soul dog is one of hardest losses to endure. so empty.
please pray for her soul dog as she transitions to the spirit world to walk with her. From the other side.
Please pray for my friend whose experiencing the toughest loss, imaginable. if you’re an animal lover, you know. They are family , they are our children. I know the bonds.
I’m devastated for my friend. The loss of a soul dog is heart shattering. Especially in a violent manner. please pray for them both.
I’m sorry for your loss friend I know she’s with you in spirit, and in time I know she’ll be waiting for you at the bridge.

Animals are such an important part of life. The love, the lessons the loss. Prayers up to all the animals they give so much of themselves to us. This is our Bubba cat, when we left home and came here with only the clothes on our backs, the only thing my grand children cried for was their mom and Bubba. They wanted their cats. Please pray that I find housing. For our family, I need all the help I can get.

This is daisy, as a 5 month old mixed breed female, shes a small girl- under knee height. (She will not get much bigger than this) she’s still very active, however since evacuations last year, due to the roaming dogs left behind, it’s no longer safe for her to be out of her home area. Her owner is worried she’ll be mauled. And she needs more space to get around to play and get her energy out,
She’s needing a home where she can run and play and learn. A safe space to be herself. She’s house pad trained, as currently she’s limited in her outdoor activities, shes super sweet but needs guidance as she’s using her mouth as a hand- to grab. Daisy needs an experienced loving safe environment to grow into the girl she was meant to be. Are you ready to rescue a pup in need? Just pup will need a foster and a sponsor. In order to be brought in.

As I’m preparing to get ready to drive, I noticed my tires were low again - so I went in for a tire check before travelling.
Telling me I need two spare tires to fix my van tires. - this is ridiculous! I need to buy 2 spares? For them to repair the leak- in the tires. - so basically they want me to buy two new tires so that I have two spare tires like what it doesn’t even make any sense they’re requiring me to have 2 spare tire but the spare tire that’s with my vehicle doesn’t count because it’s an old spare tire apparently spares expire- and you have to have a spare for each leak. That’s wow - so , it’s it’s no longer useable - I can’t even

The person was seeking “free” immediate assistance (something I’ve struggled with for years) - never did contact me back.
Every time this happens it reinforces to me surrender fees, (I really hate them ) but I’m starting to think they are necessary. To prevent this.
Someone who has to send a $50 fee to get assistance is less likely to waste your time. It’s always been a catch 22 for me because the people that I attempt to assist are low income.. cannot afford this fee, so because I’ve always felt it was about the dogs and not the people I’ve always waived the fee. This has been of course To my detriment.
Especially in these types of situations where a lot of work went into finding 5 homes.

The animals i assist may not all come into my care all the time however, I am spending my resources to help you find a place for them, help you find rides for them, a place to take them.
something you wouldn’t have without my time, my energy and the connections I’ve made over the years to help you to find a place for your animals.
This takes time it’s taking me 15 years to build the relationships. And This network of angels willing to help your animals. I appreciate every one of you!! It is time.
I’ve decided to implement the surrender fee model. Any animal that is assisted through nbars from now moving forward will have a cost associated. No more free labour. From me.
Anybody wishing to speak with me concerning Rescue will have to send a fee. I’m no longer available to people to talk on the phone for hours- in the end. Nothing. No donation no intake. Nothing.
For the most part I don’t normally trust just anyone with an intake story..I’ve learned over the years this is something people do. Trolls wasting time,
as this happens quite frequently I have learned, through many many experiences
I don’t like getting peoples hopes up for animals that aren’t coming in. It’s preventable
However It was a family member who contacted me this time so I felt that it was a real situation. someone really needing help. I jumped on it, as usual. This was Not the case. The person was not really needing assistance or wanting my assistance as they have not responded again. And the family member has stated, nothing she can do.
This post was a disappointment to more than just myself. It is another lesson in valuing what I do, how I help. Rescue is a constant learning experience. I’m sorry to anyone whose hopes were dashed, who will not be adopting one of these pups. I do apologize for posting.
