Animal welfare takes a serious mental toll, watching the suffering and knowing there isn't much you can do to fix it or change it, in that moment. It can really affect a persons well-being. I have been in burnout for over five years now because I still do it. I never did quit. I just had to continuously change how I did it how I looked at it how I experienced it - i could never just walk away.
I don't think I'll ever be able to stop animal welfare. It's one of those things that once you're in getting out is extremely difficult so I just keep changing the way it's done, and with your supports I have been able to continue.

Thank you all for being a part of this , new beginnings.

Thank you all for being here

Meet Oreo – A Gentle Soul Ready for His Forever Home

Sometimes, the most beautiful transformations begin in quiet, unspoken ways.

Oreo was originally rescued as a tiny pup at just 8 weeks old. Life didn’t unfold quite the way it should have in his first home, but we’re not here to dwell on what went wrong. Instead, we’re grateful — because when his family realized they couldn’t meet his needs, they made the selfless choice to let him go. And that choice led him to the incredible foster home that’s helped him rediscover trust, safety, and joy.

Today, Oreo was assessed by professional trainer Nina Brochu, a certified behaviour specialist with over a decade of experience working with rescue dogs. Her words?

“This boy is amazing. With just a little patience, he can be anything.”

Within minutes of meeting him, she was able to enter his pen and gain his trust — a powerful reflection of the work his foster family has done, and the quiet readiness within Oreo to connect.

Oreo is a gentle, sensitive soul. When unsure, he doesn’t bark or lunge — he simply takes a step back and observes. With patience and kindness, he steps forward again. He’s formed a sweet friendship with his foster’s dog and would likely enjoy the companionship of another, though it’s not essential. He’s lived peacefully with cats, and the kids in his foster home — little dog trainers in the making — are helping him learn that young humans can be safe, calm, and full of love too.

What Oreo needs most is someone who will honor his pace. Someone who sees the beauty in going slow, and who’s ready to build something meaningful together. With love and understanding, this boy will flourish. He already is.

Let’s help him find the family he’s been waiting for — and the forever he truly deserves

Meet Nyla – A Sweet Soul Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾
Name: Nyla
DOB: December 17, 2024
Breed: Pitty/Staffy & Boxer Mix
This beautiful girl has already overcome so much in her short life. Nyla was rescued from heartbreaking neglect — starved and caged for most of her early months. But thanks to love and care, she's bounced back to a healthy weight and is ready for a fresh start with someone who will give her the life she deserves.
💖 Personality:
Nyla is an all-around happy pup with a heart full of love. She's a sweet, stubborn little goofball who adores people, kids, and other dogs. Despite her rough start, she's curious, affectionate, and just wants to be by your side. That said, she does experience separation anxiety, so she'll need a patient family who can help her feel safe and secure.
🐾 Needs & Training:
Nyla is still learning what it means to be a dog in a loving home. She's good with puppy pads, but she’s still a work in progress when it comes to obedience and routines — she’ll need continued training, structure, and lots of encouragement. Nyla hasn’t received her shots or been dewormed yet, so her new family should be ready to provide her with essential vet care.
🌟 What She Needs:
A loving, patient home
Someone who’s around often or can help her work through separation anxiety
Ongoing training and socialization
A safe, fenced-in yard or space to play and explore
Nyla may not have had the best start, but she’s got the brightest future — and so much love to give to the right person or family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will return your love tenfold, Nyla is waiting for you.

Thank you to everyone involved in her rescue. To every driver, donator, follower. Everyone. You all are amazing for making this happen. Special thank you to Amanda, for making the trip and Jackie, she knew she was safe the minute she got to Jackie's her overnight foster and transport partway today, she ran up to the front door. I was so relieved after the trip to know she knew she was in amazing hands.
Initially, I thought that that dog bed was too small for her but she would not. She likes that little bed. She walked right into it, knowing she was being loved and cared for by jackie. Shes on her way to Furball Force Animal Rescue Societyo Furball Force Animal Rescue Society her new beginnings with Furball Force Animal Rescue Society.r
