Babiessss.
Someone is a little eager lol. Only on day 24, but Atla was given her box early because she enjoys hanging out on top and doesn’t misuse it. Fingers crossed for some more show stoppers 🤞🏼✨
My wonderful sister and her husband donated 6 bales of straw for the rabbits the other day so while cleaning, feeding and topping up water bowls last night, everyone got a nice sleeve of it. Tundra hid in her pile, Bentley could care less about his (probably didn't taste as good as he'd hoped), Cricket and her babies were tunnelling through theirs but Bunkers was the happiest hare alive lol. 🥰
The new rabbitry room ✨ Huge thanks as always, to Whitney. Between the deals, the gifts and the help setting up, you helped bring this together. 🖤
Still have plans for some additional changes and to brighten the room up with some artwork and whatnot but I’m really pleased with how it’s looking!
This is Bolt, Bolt is an F3 Belgian Hare (roughly 87.5% Hare). Bolt was one of 3 babies born to Storm and the only survivor. When I moved to a farm just outside of Spruce Grove, Bolt was just a tiny baby! Shortly after the move, I met Whitney who would spend most of her time visiting and hanging out with him (he didn’t actually have a name, so she named him!). Recently I had to move, which involved downsizing my Hares drastically. Whitney was the first person I offered Bolt to because I couldn’t imagine anyone better suited. Bolt was always super curious and friendly but also a bit shy; well after only a couple days in his new home he’s come right out of his shell and I’m pretty certain Whitney was always meant to be Bolt’s ‘person’. The bond you create with a Hare is such a special one and these two were meant for each other. 🖤
Benedict, the rabbitry mascot. We took a small attempt at breeding French Lops but it didn’t work out and we needed to downsize a bit so Benedict is now just a super spoiled potato. ♥️

We’ve been experiencing a terrible heat wave here and it’s suppose to progress through the week 🥵 Currently it feels like 34c (93f) and is suppose to reach a peak real feel of 40c (104f) later today. All of the rabbits are currently housed in a relatively cool barn with open windows and an open door to help with circulation and air flow. Everyone has cool water and seems to be managing just fine (as can be seen by relaxed Bear in the video), but as the heat progresses I may head out with some frozen bottles for them.
Please keep an eye on your buns! As we all know, it’s much easier to warm a rabbit up than it is to cool one down and the heat can be a killer. Signs of a rabbit in distress from the heat will usually be excessive/heavy panting and drooling. If you see signs of distress, get your rabbit into a cooler area ASAP! Decreased food intake is normal, but make sure your buns have plenty of COOL water to drink!
Let me just get that for you 💕✨
The F3 litter is thriving! 💕
I caved. 😂 Find me on TikTok!
Sleepy Little Hares
I wanted to end the week on a good note and send some good vibes into the weekend approaching, so here are some sleepy little hares that will be 2 weeks tomorrow ✨💕 Alaska’s two little opals and Halcyon’s six rufus.
Due next Sunday and Halcyon is eagerly preparing! Alaska, not so much. She’s using all her energy to sleep. 😴💕
Here in Alberta we are expecting temperatures as low as -40c to -50c with windchill 🥶 (that's as low as -58f)
While the rabbits seem completely unfazed by the temperatures so far, we like to give them added protection. The winds where I am are already picking up this evening but other than some noise and blowing tarps, these guys are worry free. 🐇
