Hares of Fillory

After a lot of thought and consideration, life has been getting away on us and right now I feel the best thing to do is take a bit of a step back. With that said, we have decided to limit our numbers down to a handful of Hares and will be looking to move the Brits along. I’ve really come to love these fiery little rabbits but there are other priorities I need to focus on, my health being a big one. This would be an awesome herd for someone wanting to get a solid start in the breed. All equipment available and almost all are proven. Most fully pedigree, some partial. All that are showable, have been shown.

Here is a list of what is available:

1 broken chestnut, junior doe (proven & currently has litter of 3)
1 broken chestnut, junior doe
1 black otter, junior buck
1 himalayan, senior doe (proven & currently has 2 kits)
1 siamese sable, senior doe (proven & currently has litter of one)
1 black senior doe (proven)
1 broken black, senior buck (proven - unshowable)

19 black wire bottom, single cages (25”x19” - 20” tall)

6 mini usb heated water bowls

6 nest boxes

3 smaller 3 holes
3 larger 3 holes
1 small single hole
3 airline carriers

I also have a whole assortment of other things here and there I can toss in. (Mini water bottles, other food bowls, toys, etc). Can provide photos and more information for serious inquiries, would like to have things go together as much as possible. Located in Edmonton.

“Retro”
DOB: Dec. 11th, 2024

Variety: Tan

This sweet hare is out of my first litter to produce Tan. While unexpected, I’ve come to really enjoy the variety! Retro is a more reserved and shy hare but he is still very young. He would do well in a home that has patience and the time to let him come out of his shell. He is easy to handle and has a very sweet and curious demeanour. I’ve considered keeping him around, multiple times, but I currently have a more promising quality litter with 3 Tan bucks so I think Retro deserves a chance as a pet. Also trained to using a litter box in his space!

He is going as a pet only (no pedigree, can provide birth certificate).

Fillory’s Hellfire - “Hades”
DOB: Dec. 1st, 2023
S*x: Buck
Variety: Rufus

I’ve been postponing Hades for a while now. He has a very special place in my heart and I hope this boy can find the home he deserves. Hades is a very sweet, friendly and well mannered hare. Like his brother, Draven, he has been shown and received 1 or 2 of his own GC legs but I still am not being “wowed” by his quality. Hades has been exposed to a harness and has been on small road trips with us which he handles great! He has also been exposed to dogs and doesn’t mind them, also easy to handle and nail trims are a breeze. My only speculation with Hades is he needs a home that isn’t chaotic. He is on the nervier side of the breed and can become easily spooked, which could always lead to injury if not managed. But outside of that, in a calm or controlled environment, he is the absolute sweetest hare. Also trained to use a litter box in his kennel and always keeps his area clean.

He is going as a pet only (no pedigree, can provide birth certificate).

Fillory’s Herald Of Death - “Draven”
DOB: Dec. 1st, 2023
S*x: Buck
Variety: Rufus

Draven is a super sweet and easy keeper. Tolerates handling well (nail trims are a bit more work lol) and is curious and friendly. Per typical hare nature, he’s mischievous and smart. He was shown multiple times when he was younger and did fairly well, earning a few GC legs, but he is a bit heavier in bone than I’d like for my program and I’ve moved forward with my next generation through his sisters. Draven has what I would consider a more relaxed personality but still enjoys exploring and needs space. He is accustomed to using a litter box (in his kennel) and is unbothered by dogs.

He is going as a pet only (no pedigree, can provide birth certificate).

For anyone interested, I need to do a bit of a downsize on hares for summer. I have some promising up and comers to make room for! Start off with a huge thank you to E.A.R.S. - Edmonton & Area Rabbit Society for hosting another wonderful WRC show this past weekend! Sadly I couldn’t attend all 3 days but the rabbit community is such a generous and helpful one, so a GIANT thank you to Heather and Adria for tabling for me Saturday 💕 (and to anyone else who may have lent a hand to them and my rabbits!). Also a thank you to the wonderful judges and for helping me secure the decisions I made in what rabbits I intend to keep to further my program. Last but not least, a big thanks to Chelsea and Jason at ‘Homestead Off 83’ for transporting Presley to his new home in Winnipeg this week!

Most of my time Saturday was spent tending to the rabbits and enjoying good company, so I didn’t get as many photos as I would have liked but here are our placings!

It’s been a rough week over here with the loss of our GSD, Kaiser. ❤️‍🩹

But the hare babies turned 8 weeks old on Wednesday and I’m so happy with the promise I’m seeing in this pairing. We don’t have a huge selection of does so I’m happy to see this little tan girl outshining her brothers at the moment. 🖤 Should have a nice show string come spring. 🌼

The Petite babies are getting so big and adventurous! 3 weeks old tomorrow and I’m pretty certain the two broken chestnuts are does and the little otter is a buck.

Names have been chosen already so I’m hoping s*x change fairy doesn’t pay a visit.🤞🏼
