Pretty little Harper has been transferred to Alberta Herding Dogs rescue while I address some health issues. They have about 80 dogs in care currently which amounts to around $500 a week for dog food alone! 🤯

Hi all, I’m “lil Nug”, I am a 2 year old, neutered male, utd on wellness check and rhd1 vaccine. At his last wellness check, in September, he is healthy and no foreseen teeth issues upon last check, at Southside Animal Hospital.

He is opening up to being held by his people, especially dad, and loves his head pets. He is totally litter trained and eats lots of hay to keep his beautiful teeth ground down, to deter from having to get teeth trims. We are leaving the country and he needs the kind of home he is used to living.

Meet Harper! She is looking for a farm/acreage home to call her own!

Age: ~2 years, actual age is unknown
Breed: Border Collie
Energy: 10/10
Spayed female
35 pounds
Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Housetrained
Crate trained
Spayed, vaccinated and microchipped

Her Story:
Harper was found as a stray at a Walmart parking lot in Edmonton. She had no identification and was not claimed from animal control. She is very playful and energetic and loves to play tug and fetch. She is very intense with other dogs and not good with cats or small animals. A match might be possible with another dog or two but she would do best as the only animal. She had a herding instinct test done and showed decent instinct, but would still require a lot of training. Harper is currently fostered in the city of Edmonton but needs to find a home on a farm or acreage as the stimulus in the city is too much for her. She needs an experienced, active and patient family. Her adoption fee is waived for the right fit.

Oh Harper!

Between food, treats, and about 60 destroyed toys, she has depleted her allowance. 😂

- This girl needs to try herding, so I’m taking her to a pro to assess how she is on sheep. ($$)
- I’m also going to see if she has potential for barn hunt/nasda games ($$) as she has an extremely high prey drive
- I’d love for a local trainer friend of mine to work/assess different sport potentials with her. ($$)
