Beta Dog Training For Dogs That Go Everywhere! After working with dogs of all shapes and sizes, we believe that there is no ONE WAY to train a dog.

Beta Dog Training was born out of a desire to give dog owners the ability to lead the fullest life they can with their dog by their side! We believe the best life a dog can live is not necessarily one where they avoid stressful situations their entire life, but one where they have been taught the tools needed to deal with everyday stresses and fears, allowing them to live their life out and about

with you as much as possible. Walking around your neighbourhood, enjoying a sunny day, and doing new things are all parts of a normal everyday life and should hopefully be enjoyed by your dog as much as you. There is no way to train your dog that is better then the way that works best for YOU and YOUR DOG!

We've revamped our Trainer Development program for 2025! We were planning our first date for Apr/May, however we've had a bit more interest than I anticipated. If we have enough people willing to attend, we are considering running one Feb 15-17 👀 (This seminar is three days long, and would include the holiday Monday.) For my American friends, don't worry it's a bit cold but we're completely indoors I promise! If you're a professional trainer looking to advance your skills and learn how to train from a more behaviour-focused standpoint, this is the course for you. If you'd like to attend, shoot us an email at [email protected] and let us know. We know most people would have to travel, so we'll check numbers at the end of the week and have a decision by next Monday on whether we go ahead or hold off until the spring!

For everyone that's been waiting, we're happy to announce that we're officially ready to reopen in the new year!!!

We want to apologize to everyone that's been affected by the tumultuous, and extremely frustrating, last few months. Initially we thought we would just be halting intake temporarily, then we thought we would still be able to continue scheduling future services around a temporary physical closure. Unfortunately though everything that could go wrong did, and we found out not only would we not be able to schedule future services we would have to shut down everything entirely with an unknown end date. This led to really unclear communication from us the last few months, which I'm sure was a nightmare for anyone looking for services. For that, I deeply apologize. Trust me when I say your frustration was shared on our side. If you had an application/assessment/request in with us anytime in the last 3-4 months and still want to move forward with that, please send us an email within the last email chain we used with you so we can see where you were at and start from there rather than the beginning. TLDR: life took us for a ride for the last few months, we're sorry we ghosted or confused anyone that was trying to book in.

If you're looking for Private Lessons for January, shoot us an email because we are currently scheduling Jan and Feb! If you're looking for a more intensive program we are currently taking applications for Board and Train, as well as Teenage Reboot. For anyone interested in January Day Train, we're running a 6 week day train program on Wednesdays! Our new location is just NE of St. Albert which might make this program an option for a few more people! Registration is limited, it's available in the shop now so sign up ASAP if you'd like a spot. If you're unsure if you're eligible, please send us an email. For anyone looking for group classes, we have 4 options running through January: Confidence Building, Novice Scent, Pooches on Probation, and Get Tired/Stay Warm. All class descriptions are listed on our website and spots are available for purchase in the shop. (As always, group classes are only available to existing clients. If you're unsure if you're eligible, please send us an email.) I think that's all for now, this is a novel as it is. Long time no see! In the past few months we've had some massive changes, but we're finally in a position to update everyone and start sorting out what we'll be up to moving into 2025!

First and most importantly, we've moved!! We are now located just north of St. Albert (Approx. 12 min NE of the Costco, which is already hurting my wallet lol) and we're excited that this will likely shorten a ton of client commutes. The new shop is *almost* up and running, we just got done putting the floor in and it's looking awesome!

That being said, later today I'm going to be opening the inbox for the first time in nearly a month. While we've kept an eye on it for emergencies, due to significant issues with the move/timeline we were unable to respond to any inquiries or offer any services as we weren't sure how this would all play out.

As of now, we plan to offer a limited number of lesson sets that will be scheduled starting the week of Nov 24. **Please note: we will likely be limiting these lesson sets to less significant issues as we are still building the infrastructure required to handle more significant cases. See above, where we literally just put in flooring...** Once I get through the inbox (likely going to take 2-3 days) I'll update again with the services we are going to be able to offer going forward, and a better timeline.

However, the one major update I can announce at this time is that we will not be offering Christmas/New Years boarding this year. This will be the first time since starting this business that I will not be offering this service. While I am sorry to disappoint people the reality is that after the last year from hell, some things had to give.

For now that's where we're at, I'll aim to make some updates on services and timelines after I dive through the inbox for the next few days! Wish me luck!

*Important Announcement*

The last few months have been a rollercoaster, but at this time we would like to announce that Beta Dog Training and Infamous Dog Gear will be going our separate ways. We held out on informing everyone until we had a more concrete timeline of events, but the property was listed for sale yesterday and we figured the ‘For Sale’ sign at the road might give away that there are upcoming changes… (MLS E4403285 if anyone is interested) Both companies will continue forward and we will announce details as we know them. We appreciate the understanding that the vast majority of our clients have given us during this summer of changes, delays and reschedules. For now, if you have a service scheduled in with us IT IS CONFIRMED AND WILL GO AHEAD AS SCHEDULED. We have been very cautious to only schedule things we know we are able to fulfill and while we will remain open and be scheduling a few services over the next few weeks/months, our larger services may be limited. While we wait and see what the future brings, we both would like to thank all of you for coming with us on this crazy journey and supporting us over the better part of the last decade. Thank you all so much 🙏

**Client Notice** A number of our staff are dealing with significant personal/life situations. Unfortunately these have all developed and overlapped in a very short span of time and none are in their/our control. While the dogs lives/training/care is not being affected, secondary operations such as emails, scheduling, social media, podcast etc are being pushed down the priority list in order to preserve our sanity/ability. If you are waiting for a response for a service, it's going to be a minute.
