Hey friends! It’s been a while and a lot has happened.

In March, I started my first job since Dec 2020 -at a store which many of you may be familiar with—
Later that month, Kiran and I moved into our new home (in fort sask).
In May, I finally had a much-needed weight removed from my chest (aka Top Surgery)
And the summer was jam packed with festivals for work AND Team Leading at the

I’m so so happy to report that things are finally starting to return to normal, we’re FINALLY getting unpacked and set up at the new house, and best news of all:

We’re back!! (To a smaller capacity)

You can find a very small (but growing) selection of toys at The QUILTBAG and October 24-26 you will be able to find a selection of toys for purchase at October sale!

Hoping to squeeze some markets in before the end of the year as well. Stay tuned.

Hello Fred Fam, Dilan here!!

We have good news and bad news!

Good news first! ✨

I will be going in Dec 5 for my long-awaited hysterectomy (one of 3 of the surgical steps in my gender affirmation journey)!

This brings us to the bad news:

Unfortunately, that means we will NOT be able to resume online sales this year.

If everything goes according to plan, Kiran will be having his hysterectomy Sept 21!

Mine should follow his by a month or two, followed by my top surgery at some point next year!!

🟢 WE’RE MOVING! 🟢

It’s still very early on in the process, but we will be moving out of our Brewery District condo, into a HOUSE somewhere in the Edmonton area!!

This opens up so much possibility for (us, personally, of course, and) the business, and we are SO excited!!

Also still in the works* We decided that we need to take on another staff member in order to be able to focus on the things we love about the business. Stay tuned for announcements and possible job postings!!

Annnnd here’s the long and short of it all, if you’re up for reading a novel 😂

Things got really overwhelming over the summer with my ongoing recovery, business, and pleasure. I had huge relapse at the beginning of the summer, and I’ve been riding that avalanche since.

A few days ago, I realized it was probably time for me to take another step back and regroup (especially with the Christmas season coming up 😮‍💨😅).

We’ve recently canceled and refunded all outstanding orders on Etsy.

Any outstanding postal delays (that we are made aware of) will be dealt with or refunded, accordingly.

We’ll be sending out ‘thank you’ gifts to all our extremely patient customers who’ve had their orders cancelled, in the coming weeks (after a bit of recovery time).

This are going to be pretty stressful, moving forward, but we’re definitely delegating accordingly, so that we can survive and thrive the rest of the year.

Thank you all for the support you’ve shown us, over the years. Thank you, in advance, for the support you give us in this moment.

And, most importantly, thank you for choosing to be a part of our life!
It’s been absolutely life changing to be able to rely on the support of loved ones and strangers, rather than continue to make myself sicker by forcing myself to stay in a toxic work force ♥️♥️

We’ve gained a number of followers over the past little while and would like to introduce ourselves to all of you! As q***r and trans individuals, there’s no better time than today - the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

Dilan is non-binary, trans masculine person and uses they/them pronouns. Dilan is the mastermind behind all of our designs. They are a self-taught sewist, and have found their passion in making cat toys. I asked them to pick their favourite toy design and they just told me it’s like asking them to pick their favourite child 😂

I’m Kiran, I’m a trans man and use he/him pronouns. I help with stuffing toys, some social media, and help sell at markets/craft sales. I’m hoping to work my way up to eventually help Dilan hand-sew the toys shut, but I haven’t perfected the process yet. My favourite thing about making/selling cat toys are the photos and videos that people send to us of their cat(s) playing with our toys!

Dilan and I are celebrating our second wedding anniversary in August and live in Edmonton, AB with our many cats. We started Fred over Heels (named after our cat Freddy) early in 2019 when Dilan hand sewed their first-ever toy. Dilan quickly enlisted the help of their Baba (Grandmother), who helped sew our first few dozen toys. After visiting my parents in Airdrie, AB, my step-mom lent Dilan her sewing machine and Dilan’s sewing skills took off! In the past 3 years we’ve recruited not only Baba, but Dilan’s parents, my brothers, and my mom. They all help us stuff the toys, make stock lists, and take production photos to give you a sneak peek at our behind the scenes.

We had some unexpected events lead to Fred over Heels being Dilan’s only source of income, and we are so grateful to not only our families, but to our amazing customers who make living out our dream a not-so-distant reality!
