🐾 Veterinary Medicine, as an industry, has come so far in such a short time. The quality/standard of care, level of education and access to advanced care options at specialty centres such as borealvet,pulsevet, guardianvet are advancing exponentially. And we are proud to be part of history with our dedicated Care Team. October in Alberta is Registered Veterinary Technologist Month and while “RVT” is a fairly new designation “Trained Animal Nurses” have been around for over 100 years. 📖 In 1908, in England, women were not allowed to apply to be Veterinarians and so in protest the Canine Nurses Institute opened its doors. This was the first recorded effort to create an educational system to elevate the role of “Trained Canine Nurses” The role today has become SO much more than anyone could have ever imagined back in 1908. The scope of practice encompasses so much more and continues to evolve in many specialties. Follow along this month for more history of how far RVTs have come. #rvtmonth #yegvet #vettech
