We offer spay and neuter operations for companion animals. Our veterinary clinic features a state-of-the-art surgical suite with latest digital monitoring including blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry and EKG. This aids in the precise monitoring of anesthetic for your pet to ensure the safety of procedure. We follow strict pain protocols to ensure the comfort and safety of your pet during an operation. Our veterinarian recognizes that even "routine" procedures such as spaying or neutering can cause both pets and their owners anxiety. We do our best to help pets relax, and carefully monitor their vital signs during their surgery and hospital stay. Prior to administering anesthesia, our veterinarian conducts a physical examination in your presence to ensure there are no potential health complications. If needed they might recommend a pre-surgical blood test to ensure the health of organ systems functions .Following the surgery, we keep your pet for a short time to monitor their recovery. Once we are confident that your pet is ready to return home, we will contact you. We send every pet home with a full list of at-home care instructions. We are also available at any time to answer questions about a surgical procedure or the care that follows. Our veterinarians, Dr. Toor and Dr. Channa recognize that your pets are an important part of your family. Our team is available to answer questions or concerns you may have about your pet's care. In the autumn of their lives, our senior dogs deserve our utmost care. Regular vet check-ups are vital for early detection of age-related issues. Nutrition tailored for seniors, with the right balance of vitamins and minerals, keeps them healthy.

Supplements like glucosamine aid joint health, ensuring mobility. Comfortable bedding and a warm environment provide solace for their rest. Gentle exercise, suited to their pace, maintains physical health, while mental stimulation through games and puzzles keeps their minds active.

Cherish every moment, understanding their changing needs, and adapt your care accordingly. Celebrate the love and lessons they’ve imparted over the years. As they’ve stood by us, let’s stand by them in their golden years.

How Our Furry Friends Mourn

Our cats and dogs feel the pain of loss or separation, just like we do. Here’s how they express it:

🐱 Cats:
Cats may exhibit changes in behavior, such as increased demand for attention or hiding, when they experience separation anxiety or the loss of a loved one.

Cats sense changes in routine and miss the affection they’re used to.

Surviving pets may search for their missing companion after their passing. Allowing them to say “goodbye” to the body of their friend can provide closure.

When a bonded cat dies, the surviving cat may show signs of grief, including withdrawal, altered appetite, and clinginess. Extra attention can help them cope with the loss.

🐶 Dogs:
They become withdrawn, lose interest in activities, or refuse to eat.
Dogs deeply feel the absence of their pack leader (that’s you!).

Some dogs become clingier, seeking comfort and reassurance from their remaining human companions. Other dogs may avoid people or places they used to frequent after a loss.

Both cats and dogs pick up on our emotions. They share our journey of love and loss. Let’s cherish the bond we have with our pets—they’re family. 🐾❤️

As dog owners, we adore our furry companions, but their curious nature can sometimes lead them into trouble. Dogs love to investigate new sights, smells, and tastes, and unfortunately, this curiosity can result in them ingesting foreign objects. Here’s what you need to know:

Common Ingested Objects:
Dogs may swallow various items, including paper, tissues, clothing, sticks, wicker, bones, food wrappers, rocks, and more.

Passing Through vs. Obstruction:
While some objects pass through without issue, others can cause serious problems.
Foreign body obstruction is a potentially life-threatening condition.
Surgical removal of the blocked object is the only treatment.

Signs Your Dog May Have Ingested a Foreign Object. Watch for:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Abdominal tenderness
Decreased appetite
Straining to defecate
Lethargy
Behavior changes

Diagnosis and Treatment:
Veterinarians perform physical exams and X-rays.
If obstruction is confirmed, surgery is necessary.

Prompt action is crucial to prevent tissue damage and shock.
Remember, prevention is key! Keep dangerous objects out of your dog’s reach, and if you suspect ingestion, seek veterinary care promptly. 🐶❤️

As pet parents, we cherish our four-legged companions and want them to thrive. Regular veterinary visits play a crucial role in maintaining their health and well-being. Here’s why these checkups matter:

Early Detection of Health Issues: Even seemingly healthy pets can harbor silent diseases. Regular vet visits catch these issues early, ensuring timely intervention and extending our pets’ healthy years.

Vaccinations and Preventative Care: Routine checkups include essential vaccinations and parasite prevention. These interventions keep our pets safe.

Nutritional Advice and Weight Management: Proper nutrition matters. During vet visits, you’ll receive guidance on the best diet for your pet’s specific needs. Plus, weight management is crucial—maintaining a healthy weight reduces the risk of various health problems.

Establishing a Baseline: Early visits set normal parameters, aiding in spotting deviations.
Detecting Aging Changes: As our pets age, their bodies change. Your vet can recommend lifestyle adjustments or products to help your fur baby enjoy their golden years to the fullest.

Remember, prevention is the best medicine! Regular vet checkups keep our beloved pets happy, healthy, and ready for more tail wags and purrs. ❤️🐾

🐾 Heart-Healthy Tips for Our Furry Friends! 🐾

As pet parents, we want our beloved dogs and cats to have strong and healthy hearts. Here are some important tips to keep their tickers in top shape:

Regular Vet Checkups: Visit your veterinarian to assess their heart health and catch any issues early.
Exercise: Regular physical activity helps maintain cardiovascular fitness. Play fetch, go for walks, or engage in fun indoor games.

Balanced Diet: Feed them a high-quality diet tailored to their specific needs. Omega-3 fatty acids are great for heart health.

Weight Management: Keep an eye on their weight. Obesity can strain the heart. Consult your vet for a healthy weight goal.

Heartworm Prevention: Use preventive medications to protect against heartworm disease.
Stress Reduction: Create a calm environment, provide cozy spots, and spend quality time with them.
Love and Affection: Petting, cuddling, and bonding boost their overall well-being.

🐾 Flea and Tick Prevention Tips for Our Furry Friends! 🐾

As the weather warms up, those pesky fleas and ticks come out to play. Let’s keep our beloved furballs safe and itch-free with these tips:

Choose the Right Products: Consult your vet for the best flea and tick prevention product. There are topical treatments, collars, and shampoos designed for specific needs.

Read the Label: Use products meant for your pet’s species. Never use cat flea medication on dogs.
Inspect Regularly: After walks, check your dog for ticks. Look between toes, under legs, around eyes, and under the tail.

Tick Removal 101: Invest in fine tweezers or a removal tool. Remove the tick by its head. If it’s stubborn, call your vet.

Outdoor Comfort: Get your pupper an outdoor bed for sun-soaking.
Keep Grass Short: Mow the lawn to reduce tick hiding spots.
Avoid Tick-Infested Areas: Steer clear of grassy patches in tick-prone zones.

Flea Check: Look for fleas in areas with sparse fur—think belly, inner thighs, and armpits.
Remember, prevention is the best paw-scription! Keep your fur babies happy, healthy, and tick-free. 🐕🌼

Hey everyone! 👋 In today's post we want to raise awareness about Canine Parvovirus (CPV). Let’s dive into what you need to know:

CPV is a highly contagious viral disease that primarily affects dogs and wolves. It spreads through direct or indirect contact with infected f***s.

The virus damages the lining of the intestines, leading to severe vomiting and diarrhea. In young puppies, it can also affect the heart. Puppies and adolescent dogs are especially susceptible to CPV.
Avoid bringing your puppy to places like animal shelters and kennels until after their vaccinations are complete.

CPV can be found in almost any environment, but not every dog exposed becomes infected.
Factors like the dog’s immune status and the number of viruses they encounter play a role.
Once infected, there’s an incubation period of 3 to 7 days before symptoms appear.

Symptoms and Complications:
Acute gastrointestinal illness: Severe vomiting and diarrhea.
Myocarditis: Inflammation of the heart muscle (rare in neonatal puppies).

Vaccination: Regular vaccinations are crucial. Mortality in untreated cases can reach up to 91%.
Hygiene: Clean up after your dog promptly to prevent virus spread.

🐱👂 Fascinating Feline Fact! 🐱👂

Did you know that our feline friends have an amazing ability to move their ears separately 180 degrees? That’s right! Cats have 32 muscles in each ear, which is way more than we humans have. This allows them to rotate their ears up to 180 degrees, giving them a wide range of hearing.
This incredible flexibility enables cats to precisely locate sounds in 3D space and helps them work out which direction a sound is coming from. They can even swivel their ears from left to right to home in on the sound they want to concentrate on.

So next time you see a cat with its ears perked up, know that it’s not just listening, it’s conducting a full-on auditory investigation! 🐾🔍

04/30/2024

Hey feline enthusiasts! Let’s dive into the captivating world of cat anatomy. Cats are more than just adorable fluffballs—they’re agile, flexible, and downright fascinating. Here are some mind-boggling facts about our whiskered friends:

Collarbones (Clavicles)
Unlike humans, who have sturdy collarbones connecting their shoulders to the sternum, cats have a unique setup. Their collarbones are free-floating and not directly attached to the rest of their skeleton. The result? Cats can twist, turn, and shimmy through tight spaces like magical contortionists.

Ever wonder how cats slip through openings the size of their heads? It’s all about that flexibility!
Cats lack a traditional collarbone, which means their shoulders are held together by muscles, not bone. This loose shoulder girdle lets them rotate http://independently.So, when your cat gracefully glides through a narrow gap, it’s not magic—it’s their elastic spine and shoulder wizardry at play.

Myth Busting: Collarbones cause purring. While they support purring muscles, they don’t produce the sound directly.

Next time you watch your cat twist into a pretzel or vanish into a cardboard box, marvel at their ancient lineage and acrobatic prowess.
