🐾 Meet London! 🐾

This sweet pup visited us yesterday for a little extra pampering. His dad dropped by to pick up some dog food and had a few questions about grooming. Before we knew it, London was in for a same-day grooming session! 🛁✂️

🚨 Is Your Cat Overheating? Here’s How to Cool Them Down! 🚨

With the summer heat upon us, it’s crucial to know how to cool down your cat if they show signs of heat stroke. 🐱 Follow these steps:

1. Move to a Cooler Spot: Bring your cat to a shaded or air-conditioned area immediately.
2. Wet Towels: Wrap your cat in cool, damp towels or gently apply cool water to their fur. Avoid ice-cold water as it can cause shock.
3. Hydration: Offer fresh, cool water. If they’re not drinking, gently sq**rt water into their mouth using a syringe.
4. Use a Fan: Position a fan to help speed up the cooling process.

After these steps, contact your vet right away. Heat stroke can cause serious health issues that need professional care.

Summer Safety!!

Camping? Most dogs love camping and a few extra precautions will help ensure it is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Be careful around the campfire. Many dogs are unfamiliar with fire and can easily get burned.

Never leave your dog in the camper or tent while you are out. Rising temperatures in these unventilated enclosures can result in heatstroke or even death.

If your dog does not have good recall, make sure to keep them leashed when you are not able to give them your full attention.

If your dog does not enjoy camping, consider an alternative vacation for them with a friend, qualified pet sitter or reputable kennel.

Canada’s nation and provincial parks all have leash and license by-laws. Be sure you have both to avoid fines from park wardens.
