🚨Shop Announcement!🚨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2022 has been a hard year. Running a small business and weathering the initial pandemic was hard, but manageable. But when the bigger changes stack, we have had to make the active choice to focus on our family. While we are not looking to say goodbye forever to our retail business, we know we should take a break for the time being to re-evaluate how we move forward in the years to come.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How did we get here?
➡️ One of the first things to increase over the pandemic was transportation costs. While we carried on for 2 years, our average shipment costs to bring our products from our team in Mexico nearly doubled, leaving us to reduce the frequency by which we updated our collections. We struggled with this, as our mandate has always been to stick to ethical manufacturing at an accessible price point, we find ourselves in a moral quandary of needing to reduce costs to maintain prices. Local doesn’t need to be luxury.
➡️ In early 2022, we made the decision to pause our market attendance (as rotating collections has been important for market sales), but also meant we could focus on wholesale instead of retail. This will hopefully continue, as we don’t want to let everything go just yet.
➡️ In September, we lost Ella, our 18-year old Jack Russell Terrier, who many of you have met at markets and for whom our leather collars are named after. This was the most substantial change for us, as everything related to S&H still feels like a reminder of this immense heartbreak. We retreated further to focus on our family and healing.

To help clear out our retail shop, we do have a sale on all in-stock collars and leashes! We still offer local delivery 🚙 and local pickup in Edmonton, as well as Canada Post shipping to anywhere in Canada and USA. 📬

To everyone who has supported us in the past few years—we thank you all so much and hope to see you in the future! 💗
