Hi everyone!

We hope you’re all staying safe & warm on these cold & snowy winter days❄️🎄

We wanted to update everyone on Glenora Family Pet Clinics holiday hours, as well as some changes to our ordering dates during the holidays.

We will be OPEN but have reduced hours on December 24th (Christmas Eve) & December 31st (New Hears Eve). The hours on these dates will be: 9:00am - 3:00pm

We will be CLOSED on December 25th & 26th (Christmas Day & Boxing Day). We will also be CLOSED on New Years Day (January 1st, 2025).

Additionally, due to reduced hours of operation of our business, and our distribution centers, as well as the specific days of the week that the holidays themselves fall on we will NOT be placing any special orders for food or medication during the weeks of December 23rd to December 27th, as well as the week of December 30th to January 3rd.

During these dates we unfortunately cannot guarantee arrival of any special ordered food or medications at the clinic on time. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you check your food & medication supply NOW to make sure we can order in your food or medications ahead of time to avoid any inconveniences. The last date to place any special orders through us will be on Wednesday December 18th, 2024.

Please feel free to contact us at the clinic with any questions or concerns!😊🎄❄️

🎉🎉🎉🎊 We could not end RVT Month without recognizing the amazing RVT team we have here at Glenora! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Christine has been with GFPC for 7 years, wow!! Starting out as a VMA and working her way through tech school, Christine has found many niches. She is an amazing mentor for all of our tech practicum students and new hires. It's very common to hear her telling them, "you're not gonna try to do it, you ARE going to do it!" Christine has taken over all things inventory which is not necessarily a fun task but a huge undertaking and one that is crucial to the clinic running efficiently. She is also our Bob-the-builder and has fixed up so many things around the clinic!
Her ability to recall the names and details of all our patients is truly a superpower!

Sydney has been with Glenora for 2 years but it feels like she's been part of the GFPC family forever.
Sydney is the life of the party with her constant humour, jokes and endless energy! It is impossible to have a bad day around her!
Sydney is the first to step up to take on extra shifts and stay late to help out her team. If we have a packed schedule and your pet comes in needing a foreign body surgery, Sydney is the one to jump in and say "we can get it done!!"
Despite only seeing Sydney sustain herself on ramen and bubble tea, that combo appears to give Sydney her superpowers!

Janelle is our newest RVT and has only been with Glenora for a couple of weeks but already we are seeing her fantastic tech skills shine!
She is always ready and willing to jump in and help. We are so excited to learn more about Janelle's RVT hidden superpowers!

🚨ATTENTION ALL DOG PARENTS🚨

The U.S. CDC (Center for Disease Control & Prevention) has recently announced some new requirements when travelling to the United States with your canine companion.

While the CFIA & ABVMA are still working to clarify with the CDC, we want to let everyone know that as of August 1, 2024 there will be NEW REGULATIONS regarding the travel/import of dogs into the United States.

At this time, any dogs entering the United States as of August 1st, 2024 while be REQUIRED to have:

⚫️ Dogs must be at least 6 months of age or older. Dogs under 6 months of age will not be allowed to cross the border.

⚫️All dogs must have an ISO Compliant microchip (If you are unsure if your pets microchip is ISO compliant please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to let you know!) and all of the information registered to the microchip MUST match the information listed on other documents. Ex: Vaccine or Health certificates.
**Please note that microchip information once registered by a veterinary practice, cannot be changed by the veterinary practice, any changes to information linked to microchips must be changed by the owner calling the microchip company OR (If available) logging into the microchip company’s online platform and updating information there. If you are planning to travel with your pets to the United States we HIGHLY recommend making sure you update all of your information (Phone numbers, addresses, owner names) with your current veterinary practice & microchip company ASAP**

⚫️ All dogs must appear healthy upon arrival

⚫️All dogs must have a CDC Dog Import Form Receipt (This form is the sole responsibility of the dogs owner(s) to fill out & submit online through the CDC website.)
*Please note that this form will not be available on their website until July 15th, 2024*
⚫️ Additional documentation, such as rabies vaccine status.
*Please note that in order for a rabies vaccination to be considered valid by the U.S CDC, the rabies vaccination must be done AFTER the ISO-compliant microchip has been implanted.

We appreciate your patience while we all continue to navigate these new requirements & do our best to keep all of our clients updated as we receive new information. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email us at: [email protected]

Spring has sprung and you know what that means! Tick season has arrived.

If you are planning on bring your pets along with you on an adventure involving long grass &tall brush, be sure to have prevention on board before hand! Ticks will sit themselves on tall grasses & shrubs waiting for your pet to walk by so they can attach themselves.

Did you know that ticks find their hosts by detecting your animals breath and body odors, or by sensing body heat, moisture levels, and vibrations??

If you have any questions or concerns about whether your pet should have tick prevention just give us a call or send us an email! We are happy to help!😊🌷☀️🐾
