Meet Cory and Mat!

(Aka Matilda and Caroline - these guys were thought to be females when their owners first took them home but it was discovered later that they were indeed boys! They kept their names though!)

These sweeties also came from Saskatchewan after the new bylaw and they are looking for their perfect new forever home. We received 4 pairs of males from folks in Saskatchewan needing to relocate their furry babies.

Mat and Cory are 1 year old males. Both are very sweet. They are comfortable with being handled and enjoy cuddling the humans. They love snacks such as crocks, almonds and sunflower seeds.

Meet Seamus and Neville!

These cuties are looking for the perfect forever home. They came to us from a family in Saskatchewan who had to rehome their degus due to the newly implemented bylaw that makes owning degus illegal in that province. We received 4 pairs of male degus from folks in Saskatchewan due to this unfortunate situation.

Seamus and Neville are 1 year old males. Both are very sweet and social. They are comfortable with being handled. They love crocks and sunflower seed treats and spend most of the day running on their wheel.

We are feeling shocked and upset about the recent restrictions placed on the owning of degus in Saskatchewan. Norse Clan is working with Serendipity Degus and a group of degu owners in Saskatchewan to try and find a way for them to keep their degus. We will also be helping owners with rehoming their degus on the event that it still has to happen. Our hearts go out to all the folks in Saskatchewan who are facing losing their fur babies.

Cradled in her hands a she takes her fingers to scratch a small degu’s head, a Saskatoon woman says she’s going to fight to keep her pets.

It's happened! First black degu baby born at Norse Clan Critters and first born in Canada! We are so excited! Her name is Calypso and she will be remaining at Norse Clan. Gorgeous little girl 😍

We have been notably absent from posting over the last few months due to the arrival of our human baby back in June! But! Our degus have still been busy! ❤ first litter of South African Spiny Mice! (Sometimes referred to as dwarf spiny mice because they are much smaller in size than other speices of spinies.) 2 pups looking fat and healthy! These guys are really adorable! The parents were imported from Europe in the fall. Who wants some?! 😍
