K9CI Walker is doing his best to keep up with the big dogs and learning that being a service dog takes a lot of heart (and a lot of little puppy steps!).

He may be small now, but this golden boy is working hard toward a future helping a handler navigate PTSD with confidence, comfort, and companionship.

For now, he’s mastering the basics, making friends, and proving that every great service dog starts as an adorable puppy trying to keep pace with the pack. ✨

A service dog’s job is to be ready wherever life takes their handler. Through consistent training and exposure, Stella is learning to navigate the world with confidence, because wherever her handler goes, she’ll be right by their side. 🐾

K9CI Rosco, an Operational Stress Intervention Dog (OSID) in training, rocked the Farmers’ Market! 🐾

Throughout the training of an OSID, exposure to a wide variety of environments, people, and experiences is essential. Every community is diverse, and these dogs must be confident and comfortable interacting with individuals from all walks of life.

Dogs like Rosco are trained to support first responders and civilian workers - For Rosco it’s Fire and Paramedic Services, while also serving as a valuable bridge to the communities they protect. Through handler-cued interactions and specialized skills, they help build connections, provide comfort, and create meaningful opportunities for engagement.

The impact of a single Operational Stress Intervention Dog extends far beyond the handler—strengthening relationships, supporting mental wellness, and making a lasting difference within both the service and the community. ♥️
