Dremel Tutorial

I had a few people ask about dremels, so here’s a quick tutorial on how I do my big boy Finn‘s nails with a cordless dremel. If you have a small dog, it can often be easier to have someone pick them up and hold them for you, or prop them up on an elevated surface like a counter or table or bed, with a towel or yoga mat under them so they don’t slip 😊 For large dogs, I recommend either having them lay down if possible, or having them stand on the floor, with an extra person to hold them around the chest and waist for extra support and stability 👍 Again, please don’t hesitate if you have any questions! https://www.amazon.ca/Dremel-7300-PT-Nail-Grooming-Kit/dp/B003TU0XG4/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=cordless+dremel&qid=1586288437&sr=8-5 (PS sorry for the annoying vertical orientation of the video, Finn was too big and wouldn’t fit in the frame of a horizontal video 😂🤦🏻‍♂️)

Nail Trimming

Here’s a quick little nail trimming tutorial for anyone interested!! One thing I forgot to mention is to have styptic powder or “Quik Stop” on hand in the event of an accident. Flour or cornstarch (and keeping pressure on the nail for a few seconds) work as well to clot any accidental bleeding! 🙂 Keep sessions short and sweet! Clip one or two nails, take a 2 minute play break with toys and treats and go back and do a couple more! Keep it light and fun for both you AND your pup!
