Shauna MacLean Performance Horses is proud to have the following teams representing us in the OAQHA Provincial Championships next week!

These teams earned an invitation to the finals during a regional qualifier earlier in the season by having one of the top three scores over the entire horse show in a respective level 3 class.

We want to wish everyone the best of luck next week as they tackle these patterns and compete to be crowned this years provincial champion 👑

🏆 Stay tuned for updated results from our group of finalists 🏆

https://oqha.on.ca/blogs/news/the-oaqha-challenge-is-now-the-oaqha-provincial-championship
The OAQHA Challenge was an absolute hit throughout the season last year, culminating with the Finals at the Summer Finale.

OAQHA is building on the momentum with something even bigger and better for 2023. The premise of the event will be similar: Show at your regional Qualifying Events and earn a top score for your invitation, face off against the best of the best in the Finals on a highly challenging pattern, and have a chance at awesome prizes and payback.

The first step toward 'bigger and better' is the new name, aligned with the prestige and quality of competition this event draws out. From 2023 onwards, Non-Pro exhibitors can look forward to the Provincial Championship.

Stay tuned for more details about how to qualify. The OAQHA board is hard at work preparing these details and will share as soon as possible. One tip for now: Book your stalls both for the Summer Finale (when available) and as many regional (Area Promotional Club) Ontario QHA shows as possible to have the best chance at earning a spot in the Championship Finals!

Here’s an opportunity for an in house part lease on a competitive quarter horse. John E B Good has excelled in the halter pen (novice championship show 3rd place and top ten Congress) he’s a showmanship machine and has wins in the youth 14-18 equitation. He has also stepped up and done the walk/trot adult hunter under saddle for mom 😊. “Jon’s” owner is off to university. Ideally they would love to share cost and both parties able to show this big gorgeous luv bug.

We finished off our last two days of Congress with Julie in trail and Cale in the equitation. Julie and Jerry had a respectable pattern in the Level 1 Amateur trail. This team has improved each time they have hit the pen and we look forward to them continuing in this direction.

What a whirlwind these last few days have been here at the Congress. Showmanship and equitation were on the agenda and everyone had their game faces on.
Two great patterns had Cale finishing 5th in the Level 1 Amateur Showmanship and 4th in NSBA.
The next day Cale and Julie had Amateur Showmanship and both had solid patterns with Cale ending up 15th and 11th in the NSBA.
That afternoon Janna, Cale and Julie prepared for the Level 1 Amateur Equitation. In her debut at the Congress Janna placed 15th and 12th in the NSBA! Cale had an extremely strong showing finishing 🥉 and 🥈 in the NSBA.
Congratulations to our Canadian friends on their placings as well this week! A few more days left for us here in Ohio and we plan to make the most of them.

Yesterday was a very full day with 4 clients showing in three different events.
We started the day with Taylor and John E B Good being a Finalist in Youth Performance Geldings.
Next up we had the Level 1 Amateur Horsemanship with Julie and Huntin Cowgirls laying out a very nice pattern.
Cale and Huckleberry Cowboy had an amazing pattern, both times, and followed that up with some exceptional rail work to finish 🥉 in both the NSBA and 🥉 in the Level 1 out of 105 entries!
Rounding out the day we had Cendryn and Kruzen for Cash making their Congress debut in Level 1 13 & under equitation.
A successful day had by all.

About the Exhibitor:
Mallory is an Amateur exhibitor who grew up riding and showing quarter horses, starting in leadline events at the EOQHA shows.
