Lots of fun little melons in the greenhouse today. I’ll have to try them side by side to see which is our fave.

Umm, I don’t recall planting this variety of tomato but I bet it makes one hell of a fiery tomato sauce!

Here are just some of the 37 varieties of tomatoes I grew this season. I like to grow a range of sizes, but cherry, grape and salad are my favourite.

Clockwise from the top:
Outer Row - Wild Galapagos, Blue Cream Berries, Apero, Rosella, Sunrise Bumblebee, Super Sweet 100, Gardener's Delight, Chocolate Drops, Blush Tiger, Black Strawberry, Evil Olive, Michael Pollan

Inner Row - Brad's Atomic Grape, Ananas Noire, Queen of the Night, Brown Sugar, San Marzano, Banana Legs.

I have some favourite varieties I grow every year but I'm always looking to try something new. What varieties were your favourites this season? Let me know so I can add the to my must try list for next season.

Couldn’t resist sharing this planter made up of annuals I grew from seed.

These are all deer resistant and so far haven’t been touched by the regular herds that visit my yard every time my back is turned.

SOLD OUT - I’ve got a few Eucalyptus gunnii (Cider Gum) available. One of the hardiest species available, these do really well in our climate. The juvenile leaves look amazing in a flower arrangement or cut a bunch and hang it in your shower for a Eucalyptus steam. Bonus, these are deer resistant.

1 gallon pot - $12

Some of the lovely annuals I grew from seed this year.

I used to be a bit of a plant snob when it came to annuals but over the last few years I’ve had fun finding some unusual selections to provide that pop of colour in a container or to fill in gaps in my mixed borders.

Will definitely be growing some of these again next season!

I couldn’t resist growing Jelly Melon again this year. The fruit is so odd looking and the inside looks like green jello. A sweet and sour, citrusy flavour. A fun one for the kids and surprisingly nutritious. The fruit also keeps for a long time.

$2 for a 2” pot.

DM to order.
