POSTING AND COMMENTING POLICY:

Posts or comments that pertain to the following information/subject matter may be removed:

- Requesting information on animals not currently available for adoption: To protect the privacy of new owners or previous owners, the EHS will not release this information to the public.

- Lost, stolen or found animals: If an animal is lost, stolen or found, we encourage

you post to the local lost pets pages. Because the EHS cannot verify reporting, rewards or information posted by third parties about lost, stolen or found animals, we will normally only post about found animals in our possession.

- Misinformation: If misinformation has been posted and the EHS has attempted to correct it, and this has been unsuccessful due to the reposting or continual repeated postings based on the misinformation – those posts may be deleted.

- Complaints: Specific complaints or rantings about the EHS, our programs, services and policies where the author demonstrates that he/she does not wish to resolve the matter off-line, will be deleted.

- Disrespecting other people: We want people to feel comfortable about posting their questions and answers on our page. Angry rants or abusive posts don't help achieve this and the moderators will delete them. Please don't post inflammatory messages designed to foster these kinds of arguments.

- Spam: Don't post the same message multiple times across the page. We understand with posting information on Facebook, it will not always remain at the top of the page. The information may seem relevant, urgent and important to the person who posted it, however duplicate posts to draw attention to an issue/topic that has already been posted about will be removed by the moderators.

- Personal Information: Complaints pertaining to owners of animals and their welfare that list specific information, addresses and/or names may also be deleted by the moderator. The Estevan Humane Society reserves the right to remove any comments that are inappropriate and in violation of our terms of use. Comments will be removed and violators will be banned. We will remove any postings or comments with the following content:

- Publishing, posting, distributing or disseminating any defamatory, infringing, graphic, racist, malicious, misleading, obscene, indecent, misleading or unlawful material or information.

- Comments or postings that abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as the rights of privacy and publicity) of others. This includes bullying and personal attacks.

- Reports of cruelty detailing the name of the alleged, their address, and/or any other personal details.

- Requests for support or promotion of individuals or organizations that support animal cruelty, illegal activity or violence (such as unauthorized “rescue” of a privately owned animal).

- To protect your privacy, please refrain from posting any personal information about yourself or others.

- Information or advertising for personal or business gain.

- Fraudulent, misleading or deceptive messages.

- Solicitation or advertisement of any initiative, program or service that is not linked to the EHS.

- Files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws (or by rights of privacy of publicity) unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.

- Files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of another's computer. Please note that any concerns about EHS policies or decisions should be directed to the EHS via e-mail at [email protected] and will be deleted off this page if they are posted.

We were hoping we wouldn't need to implement an intake freeze this early into the kitten season, but it is raining kittens down here. We currently have THIRTY SEVEN in our care, from newborn to 10 weeks old.

🐱 We have an exciting volunteer opportunity available 🐶

We are looking for someone who is available Monday and/or Wednesday mornings to come in and help our kennel attendants with their morning duties. This would be an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to get out into the community for a few hours a week and loves animals. The focus would be on cleaning tasks, however animal cuddles are a guaranteed bonus.

These two had the wonderful idea instead of clinking glasses 🥂 to request a kiss, they asked guests for a monetary donation towards the Estevan Humane Society in exchange for a smooch! 🐕 Pearl & Zig take on kindergarten 🐈‍⬛

Today these two along with Pearl’s human, and EHS Board Member Natascha went to visit the Kindergarten class at Pleasantdale School!

These visits help build positive relationships between kids and animals as well as teaching them proper ways to interact with each other.

We LOVE visiting schools, so if you’re a teacher or someone working within the school system that would like to see these 2 visit your classroom don’t hesitate to reach out.

** Zig is available for adoption and is okay with calm dogs.

Meet Greyson!

Greyson is super affectionate and likes when the attention is on him! He sometimes is a bit of a drama king, hissing over little things, but he's all talk and will let you pet him even when he is doing that!😂
He's a vocal kitty, expressing what he wants very clearly. He likes having the freedom to explore the cat room as he is very curious. He would do well as a solo pet, but we think he will adapt fine to other cats especially after he is neutered!

We currently have 33 kittens in our care and more on the way and when it comes to litter training, paper has been the most successful for us. It is safer for the little ones to use and less messy!

No words can describe last night . It was AMAZING, the volunteers were amazing, everyone that came to support us were amazing. Brayden King and co. kept the crowd dancing all night, SO many great things to say about the evening. Estevan Bowl catering was AH-mazing. Year after year, their food never disappoints. All the amazing business and individuals who sponsored and donated items for our silent auction, live auction and wine pull. Every single hour of this event was all for our animals. To further help improve our shelter, expand our capacity of care and matching more animals with their forever families!

🐾 Glenn 🐾 This guy is quite the chatterbox and a real comedian - he's got quite the personality! Initially, we thought he'd be a barn cat, but it turns out he's the friendliest guy around. He gets along with all the cats, and they just adore him in the cat room. If you're seeking a laid-back companion to share some lounging time and greet you with a warm hello, Glenn's your guy!
